Going to the poorhouse
I bought this car used with 50,000 miles, thinking I had found myself a good deal. In the past year and a half, I have already put into the car nearly $3000 for various things from the cylanoid pack, a computer part, front and rear brakes, rotors, etc. Every month this car presents a new problem. I take very good care of my car, keeping all scheduled maintenance, oil changes, etc. I would not wish this money pit on my worst enemy.
Be careful of future problems
Before I purchased the vehicle I checked out Edmunds.com review on the Cirrus. They raved about how remarkable it was, "1995 Car of the Year," but what they did not inform me about were the severe defects in the transmissions of the vehicles. Having taken the car in five times in the past five months my patience with the upstart tranny has worn thin. Just remeber to remind your local mechanics its a defect in the transmision module and not the solenoid. Other than that problem the car runs wonderfully and has a fairly good interior.
Just Average
We've it for a couple years. Wife loves it, to me its just OK. We too had a shift problem hung in 2nd. A leaky water pump, dripping on a sensor. Took months to find. PS had a small leak. Some trouble with electrics. Radio sucks. Replaced under a bulletin and new one lasted less than a month. Tach, LR door lock and elec window fail intermittently. The ride is a little harsh for a "luxury" car. But I like that part. It is certainly no lemon, but no better than average. Our experience is better than average on reliability. Big complaint: resale-no one wants it. Over 50% drop in 2 yr.
Pretty Junk
I would love to tell you about my driving experience but the car is always broke down. I see why Chrysler is bankrupt. Their cars spend more time with the mechanic than the owner.
