Worst SUV you can buy!
My sister bought a 2004 trailblazer last year. It had 160,000 miles on it. I wish I could have warned her first before she purchased it because she didn't know what she was getting herself into. These are big clunky vehicles that destroy and disintegrate their own components in the front end because of the weight. Constant problems, electrical problems, drivetrain problems, suspension problems, electrical component problems. Has been in the shop more than it's been on the road. A disaster waiting to happen. If you bought one of these brand-new you might have been safe during the warranty. But getting a used one oh, forget about it! Anybody who buys one of these 2004 SUVs today when they are 15 years old isn't doing their homework. A cheaply-made interior and a four-wheel drive system that breaks down continually. Not worth the hassle or the frustration. Stay away!

Don't buy a trailblazer
I do not recommend this vehicle. I have had nothing but problems with it. I have issues with the headlights dimming when I apply the brakes, the buttons on the radio have chipped off, the leather seats were worn after about 4 months, as well as weather stripping problems and turn signal malfunctions. Just to name a few of the problems.Eventhough I had an extended warranty, GM found reasons to cover none of my problems. I wanted an SUV and was excited when I bought this one as I thought I was buying a vehicle that I would love and drive for many years. Now I'm just looking forward to the day that I can trade it in for something else and not have to roll negative equity into my next vehicle.

Love my Trailblzer
A friend told me about how she loved her Trailblazer. I bought a new one in 2004 and have been in love with it ever since. There was only one minor recall, I have not had any problems with it (knock on wood), and the service people at the dealership are so pleasant and helpful. I will drive this SUV until it dies and then I will go out an buy a new Chevy.
I love my TB
My husband bought me this SUV after I sent him with a list and color I wanted. I absolutely love this car, it fits me perfectly, it has power, it is SMOOTH riding, the color (blue metallic) is just like my old 76' Camaro which I loved. He got it loaded, raised lettered tires, flashy rims. It has 18000 miles now and NO problems at all. I drove it on a 7 hour road trip, highway, and I used one tank of gas on the open road, which is amazing. Doesn't get that in city, tho. The truck is still in perfect condition, I keep in a garage, it's beautiful. I'm a lucky girl.
Love It
Just bought this truck 2 weeks ago, so I can only speak to the reliability during that time. So far, so good. I do know the dash was replaced before I bought it, so that timebomb is taken care of. As to gas mileage, I'm getting on average of 22 mpg highway and 15 city. Comparable to my F150. Love the handling. Snow and ice don't make me nervous anymore. This thing is a rock! I'd buy a new one tomorrow if I could. Much better than the Explorer, and I'm usually a diehard Ford freak. The stereo and DVD are just icing. Love the straight 6.
