This is my second Taloe. My first was an 07 Tahoe which I traded on an 08 Silverado. Now I traded the Silverado on this 2010 Tahoe and I love it. Before the 07 Tahoe I had an 05 Toyota Sequoia which was junk. I will never again buy a Toyota as their reliability is BS in my book. Had my 07 Tahoe been Summit White I would never have traded it but the Silverado I traded it on ws white. Now my new 2010 Tahoe is Summit White with the Beige interior and it will be a keeper. The reason I prefer white is when sitting in the hot sun the a white car remains cooler than a dark car. Anyway I love everything about this Tahoe and especially the power folding outside mirrors.

Some Good, Some Bad

2012 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 4dr SUV 4WD (5.3L 8cyl 6A)

This is the fourth Chevy Tahoe we've owned, with the immediate previous one being a 2004 LTZ. I loved most everything about our 2004, but the 2012...well, it's a love-hate relationship. I love the body style, very sharp looking, and very little metal is visible. However that means lots of plastic, which didn't hold up very well at all in a front end collision a year after getting the vehicle. Radiator busted at low speed impact (about 30 mph) and the truck had to be towed away. Luckily it cost us next to nothing to fix it all, since we were found not-at-fault, otherwise that might have been very costly. This particular iteration of the Tahoe is also a dog in first gear compared to our 2004, but it makes up for that by being a far better towing vehicle than the old one. It powers up the mountain passes while towing our trailer with little trouble whereas with the 2004 we were lucky to do more than 35. Within the first two years, the navigation and entertainment console died and had to be replaced, but that was covered under warranty. The factory tires would squeal when making sharp turns, as if they were rubbing against the lip of the wheel well, but that issue disappeared when we replace those tires with a different brand at 35k miles. And the driver's side of the vehicle sits lower to the ground than the passenger side, though we have yet to investigate the reason. The kids love the rear entertainment system. The fuel economy really sucks, even more so than our 2004, particularly since I use it mostly for taking the kids to and from school. It did very well on our 2k mile camping trip a couple summers ago though, both in gas mileage and reliability.

Beautiful car with underlying defect

I purchased my car with 55,000 miles on it and a cracked dash. After being told by the dealer that "those trucks get cracks on their dashes all the time," I decided to do some research. $650 for a new dash in Texas. Local dealership was willing to replace at no cost, even though my truck was out of its warranty period. However, there are thousands of owners who have not been as lucky. There is an entire Facebook page and class action lawsuit in place due to GM'a unwillingness to acknowledge the defect in the 07-13 dashes. The cracks always present behind the instrument panel and in the upper left hand side of the airbag compartment. This will be my last Tahoe until GM does the right thing and recalls these dashes.

My 2010 Lemon

My new 2010 Tahoe begin breaking down at 3500 miles. At 3500 the oil pressure guage was replaced and within 24 hrs it broke down again. When I took it in it had 100 malfunction codes now denied by Alexandria Chevy. I have returned the vehicle numerous times to the same dealership who claim each and every time there is nothing wrong. The vehicle's dash has gone out, the doors lock by themselves, the radio changes stations by itself, the oil and tach gauge bob and swing. Now the brakes squeak. The car has 9000 miles on it and it's been an absolute nightmare dealing with these problems.
