Used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban LT 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
Loyal Suburban owner regrets this purchase
Since I have owned this vehicle I have had more problems with it than all my previous suburbans (which were much older and had many more miles on them) combined! Fortunately, we purchased an extended warranty at the time of purchase but I had problems with the tires and balancing over and over from the time of purchase, A/C System has gone out, vacuum pump on brakes failed and the transmission has gone out. It is not even four years old and I have ~ 72K miles on it . When the brakes and transmission failed it is fortunate that I did not have a tragic accident since there was no warning light or any indication that there was a problem. Additional problems this year when my suburban completely shut down on me! I had to have it towed again, did a lot of reading and research on the internet and found that they had a bulletin out for the negative battery cable. Told the Chevy service guy but he said there was no problem with my truck, they ran diagnostics and updated something in the software, sent me home. Shut down on me again, had it towed, it was the negative battery cable. Your vehicle can literally shut down on you in the middle of driving! This car has put me into so many dangerous situations with the failures it has had and I no longer trust it.

Piece of junk!
I own a 2004 suburban and I absolutely love it. we decided it was time to buy another car so we got another suburban. We bought it new and have owned it for three years and already it has had over $17,000 worth of warranty work done to it. While all this was going on we got told we were lying and that we were full of it by the dealership. Finally I've decided its time to get rid of the car from hell and I'm sure not getting a suburban!

Great Family Vehicle but...
This is the second year of this model of Suburban - and it has a few problems, brake booster may be a recall, at times not functioned making braking more difficult. AC went out. Behind the 3rd row, the plastic handle that has a opens to provide a small storage area is poorly designed. Additionally the material on the hatch is cheaply made. Nearly every Suburban I have seen - even new ones - it breaks in no time at all. The outside pillars are glued on and become loose very easy. Thankfully with the new design the 3rd row folds down flat, but it has a downward slope. The defrost on rear window connections come off very easy. The size of the Suburban is unmatched in the SUV industry. Even the newest Ford Expedition Max - is smaller than the Suburban.

2016 Burban LT
I decided to write a review after my burban been sold for a while. Back in '19 I've purchased 2016 Suburban LT with 55k from a reputable local Chevy dealer. I drive 25-30K miles a year and need a safe and comfy ride, that's the main reason I purchased it. Once I started to drive it more and more, the more I liked it. It almost drove like GL, I previously had. First thing I noticed, weak headlights. coming from Mercedes these weren't even close in brightness, so I changed the bulbs to LED and that took care of that. Things were good for a while, for about 3 years I had no major issues with vehicle, only the ones that dealer inflicted onto themselves due to incompetency, but its not related to a vehicle reliability. When I got closer to 100k mark, that's when things started to go... I live in New England and winters here can be brutal on vehicles, but I washed it after each snow fall to make sure undercarriage stayed rust free, but that wasn't enough... All perimeter sensors went, trailer harness started giving me issues. To repair all that dealer wanted 3k, I passed. Instrument cluster started to flicker and needles were bouncing back and forth while I was driving. I discovered giant fist size holes in both rocker panels!!! Vehicle was only 6 y.o and 100k. It's pretty sad. Rear shocks were getting very rusty to a point where air pump was running frequently to keep it level. So needless to say, I had quickly realized that it was time to part with it even though I like the ride and gas mileage was reasonable. I was getting 20mpg on the highway doing 72-75mph. And I purchased software override for cylinder deactivation, that option should be accessible with a button. It aggravates more than helps. I also wanted to add a note about towing: if you think you need to tow a lot, get a pick up truck. It tows okay but rear is squishy and with 7k lb it doesnt feel that great. Even with trailer brakes, you need a lot more distance to stop, those brakes look tiny in 20" wheels. So that was it, I put 65-70k miles on it and sold it as is. I got a tundra crew cab and very happy so far with quality and towing capabilities.
