Quiet, outstanding comfort. A little slow on acceleration to pass at highway speeds. Lots of torque! Good turning radius for long-bed truck. 18- 19 mpg combination highway and around town, 20+ on steady highway driving. Have not yet tried heavy towing. Good access to rear seat in open areas but a bit difficult in tight parking spots. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect - I have not been able to locate a single flaw.

This is a very good truck. It has not needed a repair for 6 years. I use it to snowplow and it performs very well. The seats are extremely comfortable for snowplowing all day. The back seats have a lot of room. I am overall very pleased with my truck.

I have owned this truck for over three years and it is my second Duramax. If you do proper maintenance these trucks will last a very long time. I have over 600,000 miles on my first Duramax and it's getting tired, and I just don't trust it real far anymore although I still drive it around the farm and into town. I drive my trucks very hard and I do not have time for breakdowns, so if you are looking for a hard working truck that will last look no further, Chevy has outdone themselves.

This is the 3rd Chevy truck I've owned and by far the best!! i opted for the Duramax/Allison 4x4. i have pulled trailers and used as a vacation vehicle loaded to the gills. Great performance and comfort. I did install a ARE intake and a Magnaflow 5" stainless turbo back. I am receiving about 23 mpg @ 75mph a/c on.. can you imagine Akron,Oh to Cooperstown NY on 3/4 tank of fuel. Probably drive this till anique plates are installed. Cant miss. (Traded LT for LS model for diesel option. NO Regrets. Truck is almost 7 years old and i have not even replaced a single light bulb anywhere.

This is an excellent truck, I have the duramax allison combo and get 18-20 mpg just can't complain for an almost 8,000lb truck. I pull campers all over US and Canada and have 176,000 miles on it as of now and have had no problems. I have heard of people saying that the LLY duramax have overheating issues but I have pulled over 26,000lbs in over 100 degrees and have no overheating issues what so ever. Of course I drive easy in those temp's with that much weight. I love this truck and it has paid for itself three times over. Keep up the good work Chevrolet.

I've owned this truck for almost one year and I am thoughly impressed with it. The only complaints I have beside the poor mileage 6.0 L. motor is that the sheet metal is way too thin. This is supposed to a heavy duty truck! They're great trucks to drive or pull with, but for working out of with guys loading tools in the back and especially over the sides they are too easily dented. The only mechanical issues I've encountered is a irritating wind noise on the passenger side at the windshield and an annoying rattle inside the steering column. I drive off road daily on construction sites and the rattle developed quickly. This the second HD I've had with this problem. But overall a great truck.

purchased new and now have 3,500 miles on the odometer. love the 6.0 vortec, has great power through out the rpm range. tows my atv's and trailer like nothing!! the 410 limited slip is great for my back woods hunting. even though it is 2500HD, it will take you alot of places in 4 low. (i opted for the manuel shift transfer case which i love!) and still acts great on the open road. buddy has a 2003 f-150 and another a 2002 dodge, this vortec blows both of those boat anchors away! good job chevy!!

Mine is a 2002, with 33,000 miles. The Duramax Diesel Allison trans combination is worth the money, even for standard driving. I two 2 small trailers, under 3000 lbs, and the mileage stays 15 mpg at 70 mph. The brakes are phenominal. My last truck was a Dodge Ram, this is far superior.

This is my dad's first truck since his ford in the 80's. Let me just say this is an awesome truck. I driven a few times and it is great. The power is awesome. We have great interior features and if it weren't for the great deal he got he never would have bought it. My dad was a ford man before this but i convinced him to take a look because the dealership was having good deals. The features are really nice and the seat is comfortable. Chevy definately has a great truck

Purchased this to pull a 5th wheel. Has all the capabilities to do what I wanted. Better ride and interior than I expected in a 3/4 ton. Gas mileage is about 13 now but only have 1500 miles in it. May improve. Have not been back to the dealer yet with any complaints. Can tell more later.

MY SILVERADO HAS THE NEW LLY ENGINE THAT GM BEGAN INSTALLING IN JANUARY 2004. IT TRULY IS AN AWESOME VEHICLE TO SAY THE LEAST. I PULL A 32 FOOT SUNNYBROOK 2004 5TH WHEEL LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING BEING TOWED WHEN THE TRUCK IS PUT TO THE TEST. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO STRAIN WHEN TOWING THIS RATHER 10-15000 LOADED RV. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS TRUCK AND RECOMMEND IT TO ALL THAT IS INVOLVED WITH TOWING RV'S ESPECIALLY. I HAD LINE-X SPRAYED INTO THE BED OF THE TRUCK TO PROTECT THE BED AND IT ALSO MAKES THE TRUCK LOOK EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE. THE GAS MILEAGE IS ABOUT 14-15 WHICH IS REALLY GOOD AS WELL.

I have owned the Chevy 2500hd for about six months and I have not had any problems with this truck whatsoever. I think the towing power of this truck is second to none and have no problems pulling a trailer loaded with 400gal of water and barrels loaded with soaping solutions for my business. I also have an industrial grade power washing unit bolted down in my trailer with weight totlaing about 3 tons when loaded for jobs. This truck pulls the trailer like its not even there. I also plow accounts with the truck and have no problem doing this either, even when the snow is a foot high or better. Overall I have had good luck with this truck and never thought that I would own CHEVY not Ford..

I just recently bought this truck almost a month ago and I absolutly love it. Gas milage stinks but it's a beast so what can you expect? I have the 6.0l engine and it sounds great with dual Flowmaster 40 series. I have noticed the turning radius is not all that great. I do like the gooseneck hitch in the back as I have towed a horse trailer with 6 horses in it. I also regularly tow a 22ft party barge. I would definitely recomend this to anyone who wants a real truck.

I've had this truck since new in '04. A truly fantastic truck to drive and tow with. The Durmax engine with the Allison tranny is a superb setup. The best GM has ever put out. I think the ride is a bit rough when empty though. I may try upgrading to new shocks and tires here soon.

These trucks like everything american made these days is completely unreliable. If you buy one used expect to have to fix every part on this truck weekly and thats just to drive it and not tow anything. Doesnt matter if it's the Duramax or gas its all [non-permissible content removed].

I was impressed the first time I drove this truck by the smothness of the 2500 HD 4 wheel drive. Much improved over previous model's ride. Although the truck still has less than 700 miles I have notice that the gas mileage is improving as the miles add up. The progamable features which allow custom features is much better than the fixed features of earlier models. Power and towing is impressive. I have towed my John Deere tractor (6000 lb + 2500 trailer) up an gravel road incline on my ranch and the truck did not show any signs of slipage of the transmission or lack of torque from the engine.

Purchased a 2004 duramax because the diesel was advertised as the million mile motor. Big joke. At 124,000 my engine temp would not get above 160 and my heat was not working, and when I would shut of the engine the coolant system would overflow into ground. Found out I had a blown head gasket which was pressurizing the coolant system. Once taken apart by the mechanic, found out my glow plugs, injectors and water pump were bad as well. $13,500 later my truck runs great. Chevy should have had a recall I mean I paid $8500 extra for this super engine and it turned out to be a POS. Ended up rebuilding my engine sooner than if I had bought the cheapest car on the lot. What a joke. 5hnaks Chevy for a big fat nothing. Glad the union is striking. Your diesels blow ass. Should have let you go out of business in 2007. Lost this customer for life. [non-permissible content removed]. Update: guess what, blew another head gasket, and water pump. Traded it in on new dodge Cummings. Should have done it months ago. Rides great, awesome truck so far.
