Nice Car
Very good, reliable car. People still look at it, as it is a very good looking auto.
Supercharged fun
The Supercharged SS is the only way to go with this vehicle. While power could be greatly improved yet to keep up with Mustang and Charger, overall the vehicle has decent pickup. Great handling and a simple but spacious interior make this a fun car to drive... a real head turner.
The best car I've ever had
This car is the best car I've had, and even better than most I've ridden in. Awesome styling. This car looks both strong and sleek, truly the return of the muscle car. Better milage and more power than my last car, and I get to keep the air conditioning on. Leave it off if you want the better gas mileage, but it does degrade the power and mileage
Great Car For Price
I have had my SS for a few months . Mileage is better than I thought it would be, to bad they require 90+ octane so price of fuel makes the gap up from mileage. Inside, I love the space over Mustangs, and performance is better than a 4.6 with an auto. I would only own the Supercharged SS after having this one.
CHEVY FAMILY - LOVE IT!!!
This is my 2nd Monte Carlo. I had a 1985 Monte Carlo SS and I loved it. I just got a 2005 on 9/30/05 and I love it. Saw the 2006 body style but didn't like it. I also test drove the new Impala SS and thought the style looked like a Jetta. Not impressed, didn't like look of new dashboard at all, 05 - like my 85 - so went with the Monte LT 05. They are a dependable car and I love the style, performance, and all the features - totally different from the 1985. Also test drove an SS 05 and really not much difference. Seems to apear to be a heavy car, which is great for our weather in the winter. Truly reccomend. Great Job Chevy!! GM A lot better looking than the 02-03 model.
Chevys Best
I have a Tony Stewart special edition Monte Carlo 2005 ,supercharged, The car is very fast and the car is good handling. For the up most, the car is built strong and sturdy. Very well built and one of the best on the road
Love it in RED
Even though we have had my Monte for only two weeks, I LOVE IT. Our old car had a sunroof which we miss, so having one installed. Read the review about not much of a winter car, so we will see about that since we live in Iowa. As far as ABS, I never like those brakes on my old car, felt like I wasn't in control, my car took over. Didn't like that, so I'm actually glad my Monte didn't come with ABS. We love the Cardinal Red color as well.
Awesome
I have owned my Monte for 2 weeks. I love it, love it, love it. Where are the handling problems I have read about? It handles like a dream. No abs is fine with me, I want the control. As far as hydroplaning, not once have I experienced that. This car is peppy, and I finally found a car that agrees with me and my pickiness.
Tony Stewart SS
I bought the Tony Stewart SS model and have had it for about a year. I have had no problems. This car is a real head turner. Don't buy anything but an SS--this baby will get out and go
Tony Stewart SS is a keeper
I bought my Tony Stewart 2005 SS a year and a half ago. I have had several people offer me more than I paid for it. This car is a keeper. If you have one hang on to it. It will be a collectable. What a sweet ride.
Great American Car
This is a great car, I would buy another in a heartbeat. The power of the 3.4L V-6 is great and it still gets great gas mileage. The ride is extremely smooth and quiet, like a luxury car. The interior is very comfortable and has held up well. The trunk is larger than any other car I have ever seen.
Awesome car, happy Gramma!
I have always enjoyed the three previous Chevys I owned. (Chevelle, Malibu Classic, Monte Carlo. I purchased my current Monte Carlo last February 05, 2006. Plenty of room in back, as I use a wheelchair, and I am able to put it behind the passenger side front bucketseat. I have no problems with that process. Long live the two door mid-size Monte!
A great car at a great price.
I've had my 2005 Monte Carlo for about 9 months now. So far it's been a great car. There aren't too many coupes that seat a person over 6ft very well. The Monte Carlo has plenty of headroom and leg room and. Power from the 3.4L is decent. Capable of passing on the highway without a struggle. The interior is quiet, with very little engine noise(in fact sometimes its hard to tell weather or not the car started when you turn the ignition), and I have yet to hear any wind noise even at highway speed. I would reccomend this vechilce to anyone looking for a 2dr coupe at an affordable price.
2005 Monte Carlo LT
I have extremely enjoyed my Monte Carlo. It is powerful, reliable, durable, and stylish. It handles awesome in snow and ice. So far, the most expensive repair has been a replacement instrument cluster. Ive had nothing but good times with my Monte. I plan on keeping it forever.
I am surprised
I have been surprised by this car. I had no idea this car was so outstanding in gas mileage and performance. I am very pleased with this vehicle. I traded vehicles approximately once a year until I found this one.
Great all around car
I leased this car almost 2 1/2 years ago and I am sorry the lease is almost up.The car runs and handles great. The fuel milage is incredible(30 highway and 24 local driving). That is at regular driving conditions not babying the car.I am very upset that Chevy will not be producing the Monte Carlo in 2008.
Not pleased with this one
I'm not very pleased with my 2005 Monte Carlo. I would love to get rid of it, but it has not held its resale value and I owe too much on it. I have owned it for 3 years and it has been in the shop and been worked on 7 times. The belts an pulleys keep breaking. The steering shaft has also went out on it. I work from home and do not drive it everyday and it has been well maintained it only has 28,000 miles on it for a 3 year old car. My dash is also coming apart. I will not buy another one and I will be getting rid of this one as soon as possible.
Instantly In Love
I own a 2005 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged, and i fell in love with it instantly. This car is the 3800 series L67 supercharged. The previous owner kept it in very good condition. The SS models have the full guage cluster (Supercharged - added PSI guage / Non Supercharged - added Volt guage / both added Oil Pressure guage). The acceleration has a fun giddy up. The handling is good and easy to control. I've gotten compliments and people looking, the black w/ galaxy silver ss trim is an eye catcher. LOTS of room, and lots of trunk space. Compared to modern cars of course it falls behind a bit in performance but was a player of its time period and it still preforms like new today. The only downfalls are driving in the snow can be a little tricky, and all the plastic in the car. I've heard these cars lasting a long time, and i hope mine does too. 10/10 would buy again.

Dissapointment
Have owned this car since July, 2005. Am very disappointed with Chevy. So much so, I am switching brands. I have had Chevys all my life, but never owned a piece of junk like this car. Have had the battery replaced, the power steering pump and belt replaced the steering shaft replaced, (now needs it again), the drivers side seatbelt replaced. Replaced the junk goodyear tires at 24,000 miles, were wore down to the tread bars. Not happy with this car. Wouldn't recommend Chevy to anybody.
poor quality
This is my 2nd car has been a nightmare since the 2nd month. (First car was an 88 chevy pick up still have it) Took delivery, about 2 months later the computer fried, fixed under warranty. I drive it like a grandma for another couple of months, then the brakes go at 9K miles. Bring it to get a punctured tire fixed, they tell me the that the rear tires are bald on the inside; this at under 20K miles. They tell me that the car must have been off alignment from the factory. When you are in a turn and hit a bump, the steering mechanism or a wheel feels like it is going to fall off. Will never buy Chevy or American EVER again. Traded the car in for a Subaru and have not looked back since.
cute and chunkey
after 2400 miles an annoying rattle has developed from somewhere in the dash. from the factory, dash is warped where it meats the windshield. fog light switch is difficult to see/reach. takes some feeling around to find it while you are driving. like chunkey body styling. pleanty of room for huskey 6'5'' people like me. fuel economy is less than desired. hope it will get better. gets nowhere near the 23-28 mpg. getting around 21 mpg with 70% highway driveing. missing pull strap in trunk from factory.
Lemone'
I have owned the car less than 6 months and had a tie rod end go out, the shifter break, the lights will occasionally turn off and then back on - on a dark night, the tranny will go to a 'super stall mode' on occasion, CV axle go bad. There is a lot of road and door-side noise (from poor manufacturing - sealing). Other than that... it gets approximately 28 MPG AVG. The motor has a little bit of spunk to it, and a high end speed is very comfortable, and you don't feel like your losing control of the vehicle. 60-85 feels relatively the same, 85 - top some extra noise, but very controllable. Brakes are very responsive. Any speed over 60 MPH, and gas mileage drops dramatically though.
