Great commuter, mpg’s, and space
Went to the dealer to look at a Chevy Cruze, as I needed a fuel efficient vehicle for my long commute. I ended up test driving a Malibu as well that they had on the lot. I was impressed by the roominess, and with Ya having a new baby I’m glad I did end up getting the malibu. Lots more room, the trunk room is great. Any one that comes for a ride fits comfortably, front or back. My car is the 1.5 Turbo model. It’s isn’t a very fast car, but definitely has ample enough power for my commute. It’s quicker than you would expect, though. Fuel mileage is excellent. In cruise control without the a/c on I can get 40 mpg on my mostly highway commute. 35 mpg with the a/c on or in winter time. Apple CarPlay being equipped on my base model LS is a very welcome addition, and works great. My car now has 90,000 miles. In that time the suspension still feels as solid as it did new, and I recently checked the brakes and they still have a lot of life left on them. I did have a gas pedal sensor go bad at 50,000 miles, but it was covered under warranty. Also had a problem with the third brake light leaking, but that was also covered and fixed. Finally it did have an oil pan leak, also covered by the warranty. Other than those covered repairs it has been a very reliable car. A pleasure to drive, and much better than the previous year Malibu’s which I didn’t care for at all. Update: 110,000 miles now. No other problems, still drives like a new car.

Trash
If you need a reliable vehicle don't buy, has less than 30,000 miles on it and a lot of computer problems, engine knocking, auto stop stutters between on off at a stop light like it's not sure what to do. It's at the dealership right now for the second time this month. I've owned this car a month bought certified pre owned. if you want something you can sit in and impress your neighbors by keeping up with the Jonas's and not leave your driveway get it.

Highly Recommend the new Malibu
My wife has owned this car for over three years; it has 57K trouble free miles on it. It gets incredible gas mileage 37mpg and drives wonderful. Minor complaints are the below average stereo system and the infotainment sometimes fails to pick up phone calls properly as well. After driving just about all the cars in it's class, I think the steering is by far superior. What a great value!

Awful car
Got this car with around 7 miles on it in July of 2016. In summer of 2018 I began to notice moisture and a pungent mildew odor inside the vehicle. Turns out, the back glass was leaking profusely and it saturated the trunk and headliner. Dealership had the car for over a month and replaced the headliner. Turns out, it’s a GM “bulletin” (basically a mild recall). Airbag light then came on after picking it up. Fast forward to January 2019 and the car shuts off while idling and had to be towed back to the dealership (56xxx miles). It’s been there roughly three weeks and dealership still does not know the extent of the damage. They’re speculating that the water entry (in the rear glass area) potentially damaged some wiring. Very small gas tank and the drivers seat is horribly uncomfortable. Oh, and the front windshield is now leaking. General Motors garbage!

Unreliable and low resale value
Bought this car brand new an had nothing but problems. I have put 27k miles on it in 3 years and have had major mechanical issues. Turbo and pistons went out twice which was a $6000 repair each time (luckily warranty covered it) lots of random little things failing like the trunk seal leaked, shifter wouldn’t recognize the car was in park so it wouldn’t turn off, door trim falling off, also loud on the road and uncomfortable to drive. The resale value is also terrible. Lost over 50% of value in the first 3 years despite getting a good deal on the car.
