We like owning this a lot. It's very comfortable, with plenty of storage and room in the back. It gets great gas mileage for its size (we get 29.2 mpg, even with a lot of city driving). We really like the infotainment system with Apple Carplay/Android Auto and the controls on the steering wheel. We are also impressed by how quiet the ride is. The engine shuts off at red lights to save fuel, and the transition isn't completely seamless but you get used to it. The confidence & convenience package is a must, I think, if you get the LT - blind spot sensors, heated seats, and the garage remote are all features we like a lot. We got an outrageous deal on the vehicle, so that's a big plus for us. We also like that it's designed by an American car company. We had a minor initial quality issue but no reliability issues through 20000+ miles.

I really want to like this car, 3 things that I hate. the auto stop is really annoying and actually I have found it almost unsafe at moments, at least make an option to turn it on and off. The seats are really uncomfortable, like very. Oh and the seatbelt is terrible and strangles your waist because it gets wayyyyy too tight as you drive, sadly i might have to put a clothes pin at the top.

We bought our car BRAND NEW 11/2017. The first three months the car was in servicing 8 times. First day of owning the car, there was a noise. Took it in to discover we had a defective exhaust system (made noise). Within two weeks we were back at servicing to learn we had a defective driver’s side window (wouldn’t go up with one pull of the button), next came defective roof rails (made noise when driving) followed by needing a new timing belt at 2000 miles (belts should last 60,000 miles). Then oil light came on at 3000 miles. We researched the oil issue and it’s been a problem. In fact a lawsuit was just won for car owners for earlier models. To top all of this.... we’ve had the car 1 year 7 months, car is under 9000 miles and it started making a noise again... Took it back to servicing where we learned we have another defective exhaust system. On a positive note. We love the look and size of car. I have bad back and it’s very easy to get in and out of. I love the look of the Equinox!!! Great radio system. I’m disabled and I find it easy to get into and out of. I literally went through three cars in three years as it was an issue. Great getup and go. My daughters who are twins love it too. They’re learning to drive and they think the teen report is fun to review. Using foot to open trunk is nice...but for some reason when my hands are full it doesn’t work (user error, I’m sure). Plenty of storage in back, plus added storage under the trunk liner. Very roomy. A few of my mild complaints would be....We have a tough time putting the second row seat back up if it was down; as it’s heavy. I wish when you used remote start it would honk to acknowledge it is on. Turning radius could be improved. Storage on driver door is small. I have a handicap parking permit and it doesn’t fit. So am I upset about all the problems I had in the beginning? Not really. Everything was covered with the warranty. It’s easy to drive. I haven’t lost my faith in Chevrolet. In fact I bought a brand new Chevy Trax for my daughter’s which should be arriving soon.

I’ve had so many problems with this cAr starting 2 weeks after I bought it! The fuel gage never went to full and gm didn’t have a fix for it until a year later. So for a year I never knew how much gas I really had! Also at this time my car play would freeze up. The volume doesn’t work, can’t chabge channel, steering wheel co tells don’t work. I was told it was my phone. Got a new phone still same problem. I was told as long as the radio works it’s good! No guarantee car play or android auto will work when you buy the car according to GM. I also started feeling some shaking, like the car is hesitating and was told that’s just how the car drives! Do not buy this car!!!! Headaches for a year now!!! I bought this car for safety and hands free...it’s not safe if I can’t use hands free! Thanks GM!

Horrible Purchase

I purchased my vehicle in the beginning of May when i test drove it i saw no problem.... liking the vehicle i bought it and heading home and driving on the highway i noticed a lot more noise for the wind coming through my window. The day after I contacted the dealership to let them know what was going on and they told me it was just the doors they do that and the radio should cover the noise while driving. So a week pass and we had got rain and the next day I noticed water drainage on ALL my doors. I took my car back to the dealership so they could fix it, having it there for 8 hours i thought the problem would be fixed. Left the dealership, well a few days past and it rained ... and again my doors have drainage residue on all doors. Contacted the dealership again, they pick up my car to get worked on and they have had it going on 5 days... I purchased this car brand new with 11 miles on it, I shouldnt be having so many problems like this. Now looking up some problems people have had in the past and they also stated complaints about the vehicle draining from the windows. If i would have know I would have never purchased the car and I regret getting it till this day.
