solid, could use a little more refinement
tet drove a base model with 2.0 turbo. Chassis is good, nice ride and responsive handling, steering and brakes are responsive with good feel. Transmission was smooth, and the engine powerful, though a touch trashy when pushed hard.A little more road noise than I might have expected but not too objectionable. Biggest drawback was the seats, both driver and passenger front were too tight across the lower ribs. My wife and I are both in shape athletes, so we were surprised by how the side bolsters felt. Seat bottoms were fine for us, but larger people may find them intrusive. Salesman suggested that the leather seat models are a little less restrictive, had a quick seat in them and he might be right. I immediately noticed that the steering wheel profiling is a little different, so different seats are certainly plausible

Equinox Secret No One Knew
When you buy an LT, it comes standard with a 7" screen infotainment center screen and a larger 8" screen is optional. What Chevrolet doesn't advertise and also what everyone at the dealership wasn't aware of is that with the 7" screen, you can't use the Chevrolet Mylink for Bluetooth. Chevrolet MLink is only available with the 8" screen. With the 7" screen, you must download the Google Voice app, link that to the infotainment system and use your data time to make a hands-free call. But to purchase optional the 8" screen, you must also purchase the optional sun package that contains a sun roof. We had a 2011 Equinox and you could make a hands-free using a flip phone! But after 8 years of technology advancements, you can't do it with the 2018 Equinox.

1800 miles or less
I have a 2018 Equinox with 1800 miles on it. The celanoid box that controls the transmission is having issues. I was told that this is becoming a common problem. The vehicle with groan and will not shift. The next problem is that they do not make replacement parts for this yet! So my vehicle is sitting at the dealership until it can be fixed!!! They did give me a loaner (another Equinox).

Regret buying
We regret buying the 2018 Equinox. The reason why we regret buying it is that we found out two months after purchasing the car that the fuel gauge was not reading correctly. Took it to the dealership and they said that GM knew about the problem since October 2017 and have not fixed it yet and are not warning consumers about the car problem. We contacted GM and they said that they're looking into it and that there's nothing that they can do right now for us. And the only way to keep track of our fuel is we have to keep resetting the trip gauge. This is very inconvenient for me being a mother having to worry if my car is going to run out of gas while driving it I should not have to do this with a brand new car.
