Oil Burner

After 3 years, burns oil repeatedly. Dealership says it is allowed to burn 3/4 Qt. every 1000 miles. If you do not check your oil every 1000 miles you will you will damage your engine period. You cannot see oil in the exhaust and you will have no oil leaks underneath that you can see. No engine light will come when it is low. Worst engineered car I have seen in my 45yrs of driving new cars.

I bought my used 2013 equinox in may 2015. Had it almost 1 year. I love it. There are a few things I would like to see changed in future models. Like rear seat climate control. That would be great for the Arizona summers. Also rear seat audio headphone port and dvd. Also a usb port right up near the stereo. Another thing, the seats don't go down low enough. I'm 5.7, and I would like the seat to go down lower. But even with the above mentioned suggestions, I really love this car. I love the electonics. The size of the seats. The room in the car is great. I love being a bit higher off the ground. The cargo space is great. Smooth ride. Nice interior. But like I said the biggest negative for me is that the 2013 doesn't have rear seat climate control. So my rear passages nearly have heat stoke when driving with me during the Arizona summer. It takes about 20 minutes until the air conditioning makes its way to the back seat. And usually by then, we are already at our destination. I researched and I don't believe the newer models have rear climate control, but I could be wrong. If they dont, they need to add it. If Chevys engineer/designers lived 1 summer in Az, they would definatly add it.

I like feeling that I'm in a large SUV without the large SUV gas mileage. The Equinox is a quiet comfortable ride with the rear backup camera and the myLink system.

Worst car I've ever owned. It was fine the first three years. Everything went downhill after about 50,000 miles. Now it eats oil like crazy (we have to add a quart or more every month, and remember to check it every week or so) and the computer is all messed up... the dash lights go on and off whenever they want, the windows won't go up sometimes. And the fabulous warranty we bought on it doesn't cover anything. Trading it in very soon!!!

Bought this car new in oct 2012. No major issues for a few years, standard basic repairs, except the wiper recall. Then, at about 3 years (100,000 miles) it started lurching at stop lights, we started noticing the oil was always low, filling it weekly, even though we were only driving 200 miles/week at that point. At exactly our last car payment (5 years) the timing chain broke and destroyed the engine. The dealership only offered us $500 trade-in. Chevy does not stand behind their vehicles. They know about this issue and have offered little help. I understand that they have revamped the 2018, but too little, too late. This car is junk even with regular maintenance. I'll never get another chevy.
