Worth the price
I recently purchased a Chevy Equinox base model with the Bluetooth package the only added feature. After nearly 800 miles, I am very happy with my purchase. The Equinox delivers fine performance (even the 4 cylinder moves enough with it's smart 6speed transmission). The car steers, brakes and handles with superior results. As for gas mileage, I get around 16 mpg around the city, but 31-32 on moving highways, so I am satisfied. I would think a driver would get around 20 mph around a normal suburban town as the Equinox uses tons of gas starting and stopping in city traffic. The standard features the car is equipped with are more than adequate, as I love the Onstar Navigation and blue-tooth.
My 2012 Chevy Equinox is Awesome!
Just switched from a porsche to Equinox. Wow, what a value in this vehicle compared to what I was driving. Okay, no more pep but that's a given. But everything else about this vehicle I love. The look, aero design, interior space (I do mean more great space), comfort and overall fun to drive. The value for what you are getting is wonderful. There is more technology in this SUV than I can ask for in relative to the price. It's so practical and I have more money in the bank too. Two thumbs up!

Upgrade from Honda civic
Bought this SUV at 60k miles. I wanted and as I live in the northeast. When I purchased the dealership replaced multiple parts (driver control arm, instrument cluster, brakes all around) which really worried me at the time, and they didn't tell me until after all the paperwork was complete which was kind of shifty... but honestly I have had no issues with this vehicle. The engine is under powered, but it is only a 4cyl. It has occassionally transmission jerking at low gear but very infrequent. I was worried about gas mileage because my Civic avg 35mpg, but I still avg 30+mpg with the Equinox. The best part is it drives like a tank through the snow. I would definitely recommend this vehicle, unless you are a high class Lexus driving snob, this is a good valued, nice looking, well performing SUV.

So far so it's great.
I don't know why anybody would really knock this car. The car does what it's supposed to do. I live in the SF Bay Area and lot's of traffic and hills. I'm getting 23+ mpg and I'm still learning how to drive with mpg in mind. The car teaches you how to achieve it if you pay attention. After a while it will become second nature. I can see how this car can deliver the mpg that it claims when on the open road more. Got all the goodies except Nav. It drives very well, but you can tell you have a small engine. I'm not a guy who thinks he needs to have speed and power. Just get me to where I want to go. I'm good.
Great car
i bought this car in sept of 2011. I drive about 110 miles a day and now have around 13,000 miles on it with NO complaints. I am mainly highway driving getting around 30mpg. Being 6'6" it is hard to find a comfortable car but this is by far 1 of the most comfortable that I have ever owned.
