I will buy another Equinox

2005 Chevrolet Equinox LS Fwd 4dr SUV (3.4L 6cyl 5A)

This is one of the most comfortable vehicles I have owned. I usually trade every 3 yrs. This equinox has me sold. I've had foreign cars & trucks. They all seem to have a rough ride & outside noise. This equinox is quiet & takes bumps smoothly. I used it in a courier service for the first 2 years. I routinely take it on long trips. 10 months ago I drove it from Sacramento to LA down I-40 to Amarillo up to Pueblo and back to Sac via hwy 50. Temps outside ranged from 5 to 80 degrees depending on location. Plenty of power for the mountains. Not one problem with this vehicle. I don't work for GM and I'm not being paid to write this. Never had a problem. My next car will be an Equinox or Terrain.

Had it 4 wks now. Love it more. We drove all the SUV we could in 10 days. Love the feel, handling, easy turning, and love the roominess and how nice it drove over allkinds of roads, real comfortable. I did not get back problems after 2 to 3 hours of non stop driving. We have not found one thing we disliked. Nice to fill up and it takes less than $25 to fill it. Lots of room for storage and I have a Thule and we put dogs in rear and luggage on top. took a few minutes to change the top luggage rack for the tubThule and get it on The lights are great at night, the mirror was great as well.

I love my Equinox. I read a lot of reviews about it and decided I needed to go find out for myself. Once I drove it.......I loved it! I thought with all of the bad reviews out there that this car was awful, but looked good. I test drove it on a Friday night and was there Saturday afternoon to pick it up! I've only had it for 3 days, but I haven't had any problems. I also chose to buy the demo because it was already "broken in". Due to this, I get great gas mileage! :-) My family loves it but couldn't believe I got rid of my sports car for a SUV!!! I would highly recommend everyone to buy one, but don't because I enjoy not seeing too many on the road. I like the looks I get! :-)

I HAVE DRIVEN HONDA ACCORDS FOR THE PAST 9 YEARS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN INTERESTED IN A CHEVROLET UNTIL I SAW THE EQUINOX. I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE, I HAVE NOT MET ONE PERSON THAT HAS NOT BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE GREAT STYLE OF THE CAR. I DO AGREE WITH THE OTHERS ABOUT THE BLIND SPOTS, BUT I WILL GET USED TO IT. I DO RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE (SUV) TO OTHERS.

Have Equinox for several weeks, plenty of room for seating five. Pickup is good and handles excellent in the snow. Exterior looks got me in, pricing and room sold me. The mileage on the sticker needs to be recalculated, I am averaging 15 mpg. Don't lie about this data, comsumers will pick up on this

The Chevy Equinox offers such a smooth ride for a SUV. There was no comparison after mytest drive of the Equinox with other SUV's. Not only is the Equinox a stylish automobile it has great gas mileage and a great interior. I would highly recommend the Equinox if you're looking for a Midsize SUV.

Got my Equinox a couple of weeks ago. Test drove 7 other SUV's and the dealership had only 1 of these in stock, fully loaded with leather seats, satellite radio onstar, ect. Had to have it!!!! Looks similar to a lexus, and the drive is smooth, more like a car then SUV. Really clean understated interior. Two Thumbs up!!!

We have owned our Equinox for 40 days, and approximately 1,000 miles. It is by far the vehicle with the most flexible interior that I have ever owned, (35 in all- I'm not a 30 something guy!) The seating is very comfortable, and with the combination of the front buckets, and the large rear seat with back tilt and fore/aft adjustment, you can configure the vehicle for anything. The rear leg room for example is greater than a Ford Expedition. It has a longer wheelbase than almost all midsized SUV's, with 9 inches of ground clearance. The numerous storage configurations are remarkable, a tailgater's dream!

Just checked my mileage for "city driving" and I get 20 mpg. I drive up and down a mountain twice a day - and I am thrilled with the mileage. I can't believe the leg room front and rear. The radio and window controls are user friendly - especially like the radio controls on the steering wheel. Rides and handles with comfort and ease of a sedan - not like most SUVs.

The car is absolutely stunning to look at. One of the best GM designs in years. The interior functions are great including the moving rear seat. Major drawback is the AWFUL transmission. Actually, the dealership tells me it is not the transmission, but the computer that controls it. When test driving, be sure and drive one uphill. Start at the bottom of the hill and you will notice that it will NOT change from third to fourth gear no matter how many RPM's you are turning. It will not change until you reach level ground. Also going downhill, it will downshift very hard to assist in slowing the vehicle and at times can be a safety / control issue.

The only fault I have found in this vehicle is the fact that the rear seats do not fold absolutely flat. This presents a problem when carrying my dog in her crate along with luggage. Also, I wish thaat the rear seat head restraints were removable as they do present a somewhat obstructed view and I seldom have rear seat passengers. The ride is comfortable and the steering very responsive on the highway.

I hate this vehicle. Rear bearings went out at 42K miles. Now front bearings are going out. Complained to Chevy and they wouldn't back it up because I bought it used and a local mechanic did the work. The fact it was poor quality didn't play into it. GM and Chevy have lost me forever.

I just bought this nice SUV a few days ago, have'y known about the reliability yet. It has a smooth powertrain and lively take off. Quite in town driving and comfortable freeway ride. Noticeble wind noice from the windshield. I like the FWD better than the AWD which provide more take off power and smooth driving performance on the good surface road. Good MPG compare in the same class.

Our only complaint is with the turning radius. It's not as tight as you'd expect on a car this size. Otherwise the 'nox is a great ride. Well put together, quiet, and snappy. We frequently travel with four adult occupants and I'm 6'2. Everyone is amazed with the leg room in front and back. Doors are very easy to get in and out. Overall, two thumbs up on this new Chevy!

We bought the AWD Equinox in June 2004. It is a solid vehicle and a joy to drive. My wife needed a vehicle that she could depend on as she drives across a mountain to work. The Equinox has met and surpassed our expectations, expecially in snow and bad weather. I was driving a 4 wheel drive Chevy Tracker behind my wife in the Equinox and I was sliding more than she. Now we find out the Equinox has a 5 star impact rating for front and side collions. We are very happy with the SUV!

We love the look...very stylish and appealing to the eyes! Has so many great features for the price. Love the sharp looking dash. Premium stereo system is awesome! They should make power driver seat standard on the LT model. Headrests on rear seats are a bit too large... but not bad. Only have had this car for one week, but we look forward to "putting some miles" on it during vacation, etc. I'm noticing some quick looks and glances from others on the road.

I bought this car back at the end of 2006 and it has proven to be a great SUV. For an SUV, it gets good gas mileage. I drive over 100 miles a day (highway and city) and get about 23 miles per gallon. I have had no major issues other than the normal brake pad changes, new tires and oil changes which you can expect on a vehicle that went from 24K miles to 74K miles in 2 years! I would recommend this car to everyone, good for the price.

I fell in love with the sleek style, beautiful on the outside..but that's as far as it goes! After having this vehicle for 2 weeks I began experiencing problems my car wouldn't start! It would turn over but wouldn't start completely then stall out. I took it to the dealership and they "couldn't figure it out" 6 visits/7 months later they still don't know what's wrong? The worst part about it-the fact that in my most recent visit the was one towed there another sitting there waiting to get fixed with that same problem as mine! Besides the starting issue, my car will not reverse,breaks/roters grind(didn't need to be replaced), car dings even when keys aren't in the ignition!

It's easy to change the oil, which was impossible on my wife's GEO Prism. I have taken it on several 2000 mile fishing trips to Canada, Minnesota - it's easy to load, easy to drive, visibility and clearance like a pick up truck but has better speed. Disappointing gas mileage. For some reason, I've had to replace several headlamps. Currently one is clearly full of condensation and will probably fail soon. I'd get another, if newer models can get better gas mileage.

The car has problems with water leaks. Had problems with brakes. Needed new windshield. Gas mileage poor. Comfort leaves much to be desired. Very disatisfied with the car and also GM. If they ever get the leak fixed and it drys out I can get rid of it. That will be the happiest day with my Equinox.

Awesome SUV! Handles great, a couple of blind spots, but you have the mirrors to look at. Comfortable, but not crazy about the fabric of the seats. Doesn't seem to be really "kid" friendly fabric. The car itself easily fits 2 full size car seats with plenty of room to spare. Can fit 2 adults and a car seat in the middle, in the back seat. Very roomy interior, smaller cargo space in the back, but having the moving back seat makes up for it. I love this car! Highly recommend!!

We just purchased our New LT FWD Equinox Jan 31, came right off the truck, still with the wrappers. MFG date: 1/05. Equipped with Sunroof and Leather. After 650 miles and about 1 month I am happy to report no problems. I looked it over, top and bottom, and was impressed with the paint, build, fit and finish. It is a nice looking vehicle. My wife loves it. I've driven it in the rain and snow. I'm impressed with the ride, handling, and acceleration. Transmission is smooth and responsive. Wife and I love the vehicle and its universal features.

Reason: cars are a challenge for my knees, getting in and out. Also we (mom and son) are 6'2 and 6'5, so we needed leg room. It drives nicely and I spoke with other Equinox owners who had nothing but nice things to say. Everybody's experience is different, but so far I've driven to work and back and the ride is smooth. I will have good gas mileage since my travel to work is mainly highway. Time will tell if I made a good decision.

When I purchased my Equinox,I was looking at the Blazer and Tracker. I found myself outside the Showroom getting a breath of fresh air when I noticed this row of Equinoxes. The look and design made me think it had to be in the 25 to 30K range. I was very surprised at the list price. The colors offered were numerous. I choose the Dark Silver Metalic. The first thing I noticed was the amount of pep from the V6. The handling is more like is excelllent,it sticks to the pavement on tight corners due to the wheelbase. The Tracker made me feel like it would tip over on a tight turn.

Fun, very easy to park, excellent to drive on extreme weather. The only thing that the designer has to improve is the windshield area, when it snows you get a lot of acumulation there, you actually have to stop and clean the snow to continue driving safely.

This was the first GM car I have ever bought and it will be the last. I had to replace the struts and strut mounts as well as the front axle at 14,000 miles. The front brakes and rotors at 35,000 and the rear brakes have been deglazed 3 times the first was at 10,000 miles. The car is so loud, you hear ever bump in the road. The car handles horribly and does not feel safe. The only thing I am happy about is that I did not purchase the vehicle instead I used the smart buy program and I will be returning it early in December. The worst part is GM knows the issues with the safety of the car an ignores them.

The Equinox is a once in a decade auto- a vehicle that is an incredible value, great performer within its class, but yet likely to be largely overlooked by the purchasing public. The Equinox does not really excel in any one area (except maybe styling-see below), but it is exceptional enough in every single area to make it an extremely enjoyable SUV to own. Combine that with incredible value (my loaded LT FWD was $22,500 off the lot) and you cannot lose.

I bought my Equinox about a year ago and loved it at first. It drove smoothly, it was comfortable to travel in for a little bit. Then my anti-lock braking system started to take a crap on me. Took it into the dealer said that it was a computer chip malfunction. They replaced that and I didn't even hardly get it out of the parking lot before it did it again. Took it back again and finally figured out it was something in the wheel. I hate the interior I spilled water on my seat and it stained it! All the buttons are wearing off and I just took it to the shop again because something to do with my radiator that could have potentially burnt my engine up! The more miles the more problems it seems.

Excellent design, but I wouldnt compare this to a tracker! I really dont like them, but the Equinox is amazing. It is very comfortable to drive and really is a great "SUV."
