The more miles the more problems.

I bought my Equinox about a year ago and loved it at first. It drove smoothly, it was comfortable to travel in for a little bit. Then my anti-lock braking system started to take a crap on me. Took it into the dealer said that it was a computer chip malfunction. They replaced that and I didn't even hardly get it out of the parking lot before it did it again. Took it back again and finally figured out it was something in the wheel. I hate the interior I spilled water on my seat and it stained it! All the buttons are wearing off and I just took it to the shop again because something to do with my radiator that could have potentially burnt my engine up! The more miles the more problems it seems.

I purchased my Equinox in May of 2004. I love it! Fuel economy, roomy, carlike feeling, spacious like a minivan and looks like an SUV. I have received plenty of compliments on this car from friends family co workers, and complete strangers. For the price, you can't go wrong!

I have only had the vehicle for 3 complete days now and I have not had any complaints with this SUV. The Nox is the best vehicle for the money when compared to the other SUVs from other manufacturers. To better experience the Equinox, get all available features.

I have had the Chevy Equinox for 1 month now and it is very fun to drive. I have the LS AWD and I recently took it through the snow and on the dirt. Never had any problems. I went over some ice and the AWD kicked in. The Equinox handles very nice. No problems with the radio controls, not that hard to figure out. My Passengers love the slight reclining seats in the back.

We bought the Equinox when they were hard to find. At first we loved it but then it started having problems. Within the first 2 months my front struts were replaced and now it is in the shop waiting for a part, which cannot be found right now. Also go for the leather the cloth is cheap. I do like the sunroof and we had a dvd put in and like that. My suggestion is wait for next years model so all the kinks can be worked out.

Great Looking, but Poor Reliability

My wife and I both purchased one of these in Sept. 2004. My wife's started having a thumping, grinding, vibrating noise from the rear when she would make a turn. This is quite common in many different reviews online, something in the rear differential seems to be the culprit, not to mention the brake rotors warping. Should you need to stop, leave plenty of room as they shake, vibrate, and fade. We traded one for a Certified 05 Tahoe that we paid $27K for. Great deal since a new Nox is $24K. MPG not much different either. Tahoe display shows 16.2 MPG w/ 5.3 V8. I tracked mileage per tank vs. actual file up with the Nox for the first 10K miles and only got 17MPG.

Bought used with 70,000 miles haven't found most of the complaints that others have to be an issue. Had heard that the engine was underpowered and the cabin was noisy but driving on the highway the first couple times I was surprised to look at the speed and find myself doing 80. For the noise the only thing that intrudes is the tires when going over large bumps. Engines quiet unless you mash the pedal. Wind pushes it around easily something I never felt in my last car. Acceleration's not great but has plenty of power for highway driving. Love that I can carry five people over six feet and have them be comfortable. Fuel economy is about 21 mpg. Seats and floor were stained cleaned up easy

My wife and I did alot of research on this vehicle. We took one for a test drive and gave it a 9.8 out of ten. Within hours of the test drive we purchased one (and we are not ones to make purchases like this so quickly). Currently we have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and were looking for a second vehicle that was as good or better than the Montana (and the Montana is very good vehicle). Well this vehicle is better. Better ride, handling, comfort (lots of legroom especially in the sliding rear seat) and power. Definately a vehicle worth considering. So who gets to drive the Montana and who gets to drive the Equinox?

I decided on a smaller SUV after driving a Trailblazer and Explorer since 1998. The Equinox exterior style is most impressive, and many of it's features, especially AWD, is great. Excellent traction when accelerating on wet pavement, and comfortable to drive. Good bang for the buck.

I have only had my Equinox for 2 weeks and I love it. I have everything in my Equinox that it could come with and can say its very comfortable. From the dimming mirror to the leather seats, etc. There is nothing that I don't love about it. Not only is the vehicle nice inside but it also handles well around corners and on the road. Chevy did a really good job on this vehicle.

Looking for a vehicle while at the Cleveland Auto Show and stumbled across the Equnox. Fell in love with the looks, style, price and backseat legroom. Took it for a test drive the next week and fell in love. Ordered one 03-20-04, the Spring Equinox and now just waiting it's arrival. Will be back here to post after owning it for a while. Couldn't fairly judge performance or fun to drive categories fairly yet so went middle of the road with a 5.

I bought this truck in April and since then it has been in the shop 4 times. The first issue was the right front shock broke within 2 weeks of owner ship. Then the interior ceiling was falling in. Also, my hatch back light won't turn on. The most recent thing was my check engine light was on. The cause was the silver gas intake pipe wasn't centered and there for when the gas cap was on it did not create a tight seal causing gas fumes to leak. It is a beautiful vehicle but it has no quality to it. Also the blind spots are incredible. It is hard to pass on the interstate because you have to take your eyes off the road to turn around and look to see if it is clear behind you.

Excellent...you get a lot for your money. Two of it's best features are the sliding rear seat and the folding passenger seat. Great for travel. For SUV's in the same class, you get a lot more for your money than with the CRV or Jeep Liberty. The electric steering takes a little getting used to but is another great new feature for 05. It is very spacious. The cargo net in the back is great for groceries and shopping. Also, there is a movable tray in the rear so you can cover things in the trunk, make a shelf for storage or flip it over and it turns into a great tray for tailgating. It's cloth on one side and plastic on the other. Overall...buy it...you will love it. It's.....sweet.

I found that I like this vehicle even more than I thought I would. Peppier than expected, handles well, and rides comfortably. Plenty of room for me and my large dogs ( two over 100 lbs.) The gas mileage could be a little better and I will agree that the stereo controls could be a little simpler to use. The stereo is excellent sound though. I am really pleased with the styling inside and out.

Engine is peppy but very noisy. AWD is noisy when cornering. Windshield design traps lots of debris in the wiper area and creates big blind spots on both sides. Snow and ice accumulate in the wiper area and is very hard to remove in the morning if parked outside. Integral unadjustable headrests are tilted too far forward for a 6' person making it necessary to recline the seat way back to remove your chin from your chest. Rattles from dashboard, gearshift and front suspension area. Terrible drivers view to the rear and sides. -Backing up is a real chore. Cloth upholstery stains far too easily and doesn't clean up well. Parking brake can't be used if console cupholders are open.

I am amazed at the quality this Chevy has attained. Not to par as the top Luxury models, BUT, getting there. The design is a definite leap forward for Chevy. It has the looks without looking like a clone of everything else. Aggressive and yet sporty looking. I am particularly happy with the interior. It reminds me of a Mercedes in looks, texture, and feel. I am a sports car person, and would love more performance with a sportier handling package. However, for a first year vehicle, it is above par for a domestic. Also would love the city gas mileage to be a little better. My only problem has been some wind noise from the top of the driver's door. I highly recommend this SUV!

Excellent buy for the money. Very well rounded. Has all the advantages of both the large and the small SUV classes. Has only one safety glich, and that is the rear headrests get in the way of the view to the back corners of the vehicle, but is compensated for by larger than expected driver and passenger mirrors. All in all a great buy.

This is a powerful and reasonably comfortable truck with enough cargo room to transport a fair amount of watever you normally haul as well as a good sized trailer or boat. It is even reasonably attractive. I like my truck but would not recommend going without warranty coverage. There are a host of minor (correctable) problems that GM fails to correct unless you complain, and then only at the owners expense. Brakes and coolant are ongoing issues. Fortuately my dealer is reasonably responsive. I don't feel my money was badly spent, but it could have definately been better spent.

Worst car of my life. Not enough room Take my key out no lights on still continues to ding used to be able to pull key at angel to get it to stop now that won't work Chevy can't figure out what's wrong. No way to use e-brake if you need it without ruining interior and getting all sticky. Seats stain with just water being used on them. Stay away from the equinox! interior flakes with no effort. will never own again staying away from GM altogether nothing but problems from them

Replacing a mini van with the Equinox. Just as with our Venture, the stock tires must go so the sharp edges of the ride quality will be smoothed out. The Nox has a tighter feel without much body pitch. The electronic steering is a big plus no dead center spot and good progressive change with road speed. Interior noise levels are very good. the performance of the sunroof (wind noise and buffeting) is not as good as some other models I have owned. The only fault I had to fix was the rear headrests, the block the rear view.

I drive alot of miles and practically live in my car, so comfort is the first thing I considered when making my purchase. The heated leather seats provide superior comfort to any of the other American made SUVs that I tested. The V6 engine also supplies pleasantly suprising horsepower and sufficient fuel economy. Overall, the performance to date has been outstanding!

I have found that this SUV is very comfortable (I am 6'4"). Plenty of head and leg room, even I can fit in the backseat without sitting sideways. Very smooth ride, the car drives itself. Radio is confusing but the sound is great. Rear view is a negative. Its like a looking through a tunnel. For safety I put in a "Lane Changer" Mirror (cost 8 bucks). I have to get use to a smaller gas tank. (Use to 22 gal vs the 16 gal). Engine responds very smoothly but you have to watch your speed when you going 60 it feels like 30. Gas pedal is very touchy. The low end model does not come with a cargo net (cost $104) bought a generic one for $6 and does just as well. Limited cargo space.

We bought our Equinox LT FWD after test driving two others. I traded my 2003 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab for it. The room is unbelievable! One really must see it and feel it to appreciate it. The gas milage and lack of room were two of the major factors in getting rid of the Nissan. We have only gone through one tankful but I must say we are averaging 21 city/highway. The ride and handling are superb.

Love the outside look. Inside also pretty but the seats are a little hard. Problem is that I got the top of the line, LT, AWD with leather and heated seats and I feel that I got shafted with some non-amenities. Such are no light in the glove compartment. Terrible smell in car when new; they had to change anti-freeze twice. I heard others have had same problem. Heater dial impossible to reach or know whether it is on. Turn on map light in back and it automatically goes on front and blinds driver. Temperature gauge for outside air goes up 30 degrees when I am in terrible traffic. Too many problems for a nice looking, nice driving perfect size car with a sticker of almost $29,000

The next generation SUV. We love the leather, heated seats. The radio controls are easy to use on the wheel and on the stereo. Love the bass. The power/torque this vehicle has is fabulous. I have the same engine in my Venture, but this is geared so much better. Electronic steering and transmission are amazing. Cruise is so much better than on the traditional mechanical transmission. 17" wheels make this SUV look so much better than the standard 16". All of my friends love it also.
