Used 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Poor Warranty Suppourt
I bought a 2017 Cruze in December of 2017. I noticed the coloring on the driver’s door jam was blotched but was not concerned as it was a hidden area. The paint seemed to scratch very easily and began to chip the summer of 2018. I brought the concerns to a local dealer, Davidson Chevy thinking maybe the door was rubbing. They blamed me saying there was no misalignment. As the paint flaking and rust got worse February of 2019, I brought the car back to the dealer and opened a case with GM customer service. Again, the dealer blamed me saying that it was dog scratches. A dog never entered the car except a kennel in the hatch and I did not have a dog until the problem was already there. The Warranty covers corrosion protection for the first three years, 36,000 miles which the vehicle is well under both. The car has more rust after one year than the 16 year old Buick Lesabre that it replaced.

This car makes me cry!!!
So I thought to myself upon buying this car why would it only have 20,000 mi on it but be a 2017? (and I bought it in the year 2021) well because this car probably has barely even been driven because of all the problems that it creates on its own even if you baby it. It will still break down on you and have fuel injection problems for no apparent reason. As of right now my car has been to the shop 8 times and I just bought it 2 years ago. 4 times for the fuel injectors blowing out 1 by 1 and the warranty would only cover it when it failed so I had to take it back for every single injector that blew on me, 1 time for the block heater that randomly quit working after putting off mega ohms So the dealership replaced it completely. Still not even sure to this day if that block heater actually works correctly or not, and 1 time for the knock sensor throwing on the check engine light saying that the combustion is off in the engine, and 2 times for the same fog light that keeps burning out (forgot to add that also as of right now the other side that hasn't been replaced twice has NOW ALSO burnt out on me and I just don't have the money to get it fixed as it's $100 every single time.) So that's just the reasons that I have ran into in the last 2 years, so definitely not keeping this car as the future of this car seems to be complete engine failure/replacement. Clearly this car has electrical issues and probably has parts that have been recalled on it but the dealership failed to tell me any of that. I should have looked up all the reviews on my own but I did not until I started having problems as I was under the impression that I bought a reliable car. This car has been the exact opposite of reliable. It's been a complete headache. I have to take it back to the shop every 3 months. And right now what I'm doing is saving up enough money for a down payment so I can get rid of it. Chevys are good cars for mechanics as they have to be worked on every single weekend in order for you to drive them.. but the problem is.....i'm not a mechanic. I'm a 28-year-old woman who knows nothing about cars. So to me this is really upsetting that I don't have a reliable vehicle and the fact that I WAS in love with this car just based off of the looks of it (because it does look very sharp inside and out.) BUYER BEWARE (or better yet) DO NOT BUY THIS CAR AT ALL, and if you read this review before you bought the car, then save yourself from a world of instability, stress, anger, and constant paranoia that your car is going to break down again and Do yourself a favor and go ahead and look into something else. Matter of fact, look into anything else besides this car . Because I'm not sure if there is one that's worse. Honestly, I really hope that GM reads this because they are the ones who produce the parts for this hunk of stinky s***. Yeah, sure the car looks cool but if it doesn't drive right, what's the point of owning it?... Anyways, that's a no-go for me. Definitely getting rid of this car as soon as possible. Too bad I've put so much money into it or I would already have a down payment for a different one.

2017 Cruze, great vehicle!
The only complaint I have is that the paint on the vehicle seems to be paper thin. I have a new chip or ding every day. I bought a paint repair pen and it has been difficult keeping up.
