Great car but...

Awesome performance but having problems with shifting from 2nd-3rd and 1st-2nd. Seems as though shifting linkage is not lined up. Some body work needed to be done by dealer. Poor alignment of right front fender, headlight, wheel well liner, etc. There also is a very noticable "mold" seam in left rear fender. Dealer wanted to buff it out and repaint. I said no. Lots of minor paint imperfections. Car is black so it shows everything. But, Lord it is fun!

The car is amazing to drive fast, tight ,and never lets you down. It's suprisingly comfortable and has great gas mileage. GM has stood behind this vehicle and serviced it remarkably well. The people who built it had an incredible work ethic I haven't seen in a long time. Museum delivery was awsome. The handling at high speeds is also excellent. I just can't believe they put together a winner .

2006 Corvette Z06 Best of Generation

2006 Corvette Z06, built to beat Europes best (Ferrari, Porsche) which she did. Every time I drive this car is a thrill, from the way she corners, to the powerful LS7 (427) sounds and rocket acceleration. She is nothing less than a street legal race car. She has all the features to go to a race track and have the time of your life, because that is the way Chevrolet built her. The best part of having this year and model Corvette is you still have plenty of room for things you need in everyday life. There is tons of room in back for golf clubs, suit cases, groceries, etc.. I love this car, she is what I think of as a perfect car for combination looks, performance and being useful in everyday life. She is my daily driver and is an experience everytime I hit the road. The only way I can describe driving her is a deep visceral feeling. Many Corvette owners hide their cars in garages, I drive mine everyday. Even though she is 18 years old, people come up to me asking about her, which I always accommodate. I have to be honest, being a specialized track car she is a little more expensive to operate. Tires and repairs can be a bit higher than regular car, but that's the point, she isn't regular, but an untamed tiger. This is a manual 6 speed, which adds to the experience by connecting the driver to the cars powerful personality. I could go on about how much fun this car gives me, I feel it is the perfect 2 seater car. Simply put Chevrolets 2006 Corvette Z06 is still the best.. The new Corvette is awesome to drive, but completely lacks in utilitarian uses such as has almost zero storage. I can't believe they built the newest models like that, completely useless in normal life. I want to take the car everywhere I go, but new models are only good for driving around on Sunday afternoon. That's what makes 2006 Corvette Z06 the best. John M.
