1993 CHEVY CORSICA

I learned that it was designed to be impervious to rental car customers and fleet business drivers, and to not have any repairs required for the first 60,000 miles. Some have lasted 185,000 and I’ve seen them in salvage yards. All had the stainless steel exhaust system and they all sit there as OEM in the salvage yards with the usual 135,000 life span of the 2.2 and 3.1 liter engines. The best year of the 10 year, same body type production Corsica, is the 1993, available via special order only, luxury business version with the 2.2 liter. With the proper tires and suspension system, it rides like a dream and handles great, taking on sharp curves in the high Sierras with ease.

I bought this car just to get me bye while in college and fell in love with it. I have put more than 50k on it my self and have only had to replace the water pump and the O2 sensor. This car has really decent interior and comfortable seating for everyone. The gas mileage on it is pretty decent for a 3.1 6cyl as well. I will continue to drive this car as long as I can. If they still made them I would get another in a heartbeat.

A Good and Quick Commuter

We bought this car with around 100K on it. All it needed was new tires and brakes. Overall it has been a solid reliable car. The only real problems we had with it was a bad wheel bearing and a dead heater fan. The engine and transmission, like most GM vehicles, are solid and reliable. The V6 is quite quick. I'm not sure about the 4 cylinder but I hear they're slow. Fuel economy also isn't bad for a V6. The interior is not a strong point as there was a lot of loose trim panels and the front power window switch cluster broke so the the switches just dangled from the wires.

This was my grandma's car before mine. I was expecting a typical "granny" car but when I got it, my first time driving it was from WI to FL. Despite it's non-sporty look, I was amazed at the power in this car! I had looked at Civics and Camrys before receiving this car and I am definitely glad I got this one. Mine is a 6cyl 3.1 which I don't see on here, but I have amazing power. I haven't had any problems with this car so far. I had to get some body work done after my aunt got in an accident with it, but even having it in a shop for 2 months, I still put on over 20,000 miles in less than a year. I guess big things really do come in small (and plain) packages! I see this car lasting a while.

Okay so my mom had her 1994 corsica. She had planned on handing it down to me which she did about 5 years ago. I had made a field car out of her. She became known with the name Betsy. Betsy was sitting behind a 3.1 liter v6 with 80,000 miles on it, she had 180,000 on her body (was replaced with bertetta motor at 100,000)still was the beast of my homeade track. With the pedal to the floor i roasted the spare donut tire right off of its rim (E-Brake held high, pedal held low)

College Car still pump'in

Got this car in college and now, ten years later it's still going strong. I am rough on cars; I drive too fast and over objects all the time - this car can take it. It's a tank. And drives like a good tank - the V6 is very swift when you need it. Of course, some things happened. The hood latch broke and it needs new oil every 3000 miles. I went through a lot of tires (my fault) one alternator and some cooling problems but for the money (under ten grand) this car was beautiful. I hate to sell mine, but at 206,000 without major repair, it's days must be numbered - or maybe not.

"BEST OF THE BEST"

I have had my Corsy for 16 years and I have had no Major issues with it. @ 185K miles its still running great! Only normal wear n tear items, I also have the water leak at the windshield thing therefore the 9 for build, The paint issue with the Chevy bright white hit mine also where the paint starting with the Roof peeled off so a 9 for exterior design, I know they had a law suit for the paint but I missed that recall notice by one year when it started...but I adore the body style and the interior room. I will drive it until I cant drive it any longer- I wish there was a comparable vehicle in this day and age- If I could buy another NEW one I would!

Bought this car as a "program" back in 93. Had many problems with it. Water leak in front dash area. Paint peeled, door locks would freeze in winter, transmission was going when traded for Ford in 05. I guess it wasn't the worst car we ever had, that would have gone to 86 Subaru wagon. But it was far from the best. Only kept so long due to finances, or lack thereof. Glad we got rid of it when we did. Only had about 75K on it, and it was about done. Probably never purchase GM product again. Every one (EVERYONE) has had water leak problems.

Have owned this car for 14 years and 200,000 miles. It was a rental car the first year of its life. I have had very little problem with the car and no major repair bills. It is comfortable to drive with good acceleration and fairly good gas mileage.

I have had my car for less than a year, and it has been one of the best cars I have had. I love the way it drives. It can handle what most normal cars can't. It is one if the first cars that can keep up with me. Performance wise it is a dream, but the body could look better. It is in great shape, and I wash it and clean it up good like 2 or more times a week,(I work in auto detailing) but it could be prettier. The front of the car has a funny shape, but the rest of it is fine. I love this car.

Good Basic Car

This is my first car, but as an ex- rental in 1995. I still have it and it has proven to be pretty reliable except for the last 14 months. I have had to replace the alternator, the intake manifold gasket as well as the rear brake cylinders as they were leaking fluid. But to the car's credit, it did survive being a rental car and my teenage years and all the repairs were inexpensive (except for the manifold problem.) The car has just under 90k miles and shows no sign of quitting.

This car isn't worth a whole lot and can't do much.Once you get above 65 you can go any speed pretty quick. The acceleration sucks but I've been getting about 45 mpg. Good reliable car for a teenager.BORING FOR AN ADULT.

If you need a car to get you from point A to point B, this is the car. The handling is acceptible around town, just don't push it. the 3.1L V6 was the best, and only "good" part of the car. Plenty of power for a lil' joint like this. the 2.2L 4 is weak. Just watch out for bad altinators, and Brake pads wear out fast..

Grandma car but very functional

We bought it one year old from a rental company. It has some wind noise that I never could solve. Radiator hose was routed poorly causing it to wear through, finally added my own cover. Goes through brakes like crazy. We have the 3.1 V6 auto, it has locking torque converter and gets honest 30MPG on the hiway. Great little engine. Reliable until recently. After 10 years, have replaced alternator, torque lock switch, intake manifold gaskets (for oil leaks), 3 fuel pumps and counting. AC finally gave out.

Ugly but very good for an American car

I bought this car from a Rental Agency after 1 year and 25000 miles. It's always been a little loud around the manifold. This car has been solid for 200K miles. The 3.1 V6 engine is a great engine. Good combination of pick- up and gas milage. The interior is very comfortable for it's size/class. The car is butt-ugly (white and square) so you won't get alot of respect amongst your peers. There were frequent break-jobs and a couple of wheel bearing problems over the 10 years, but maintenance costs were lower than most domestic cars.

Let me tell you, I got this car with 194,000 miles just for a temporary ride. Once I started driving it day in and day out for my pizza delivering job, I couldn't be any happier. For the miles on this car I wouldn't of expected much but I was wrong. It really does live up to the Chevy bow-tie. To anyone considering this car, I would highly recomend it. Even today it's running strong at 197,000 miles.

A good looking faily comfortable car. Utterly reliable after sorting it out i.e. Head gasket leak (2.2 4 cyl engine.) I've been driving American cars for 40 years and this is the most economical at 35 mpg on runs.

Well to be honest I only paid $700 for it. Thinking it has 117k miles on it it won't last long. Was I wrong 129,355 miles on it only one tune up and several oil changes and a year of driving it non stop to work and school and around with friends no problems. Great first car for teens.

I believe the dealer told me a lemon on purpose because I was a dumb kid who did not know better. In four years a replaced the starter, alternator, brakes, power window, and the AC went out. All in only four years. Because of this experience I will never by Chevy again. I will not even rent one
