What’s not to like
This is my first midsize truck ownership having always driven either 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton trucks. My last two trucks were GMC 2500 diesels which were my favs. I don’t have a need for a full size any longer. I test drove the Ranger, Canyon and lastly the Colorado. I really liked the Ranger, but it was just plain ugly and very dated looking. From the first test drive, the Colorado just felt different. Smooth transmission, plenty of power and the ride is remarkably smooth. After 3000 miles I’m averaging 21 mpg. Favorites include: the infotainment system, easy to use controls and the peppy acceleration response, the Bose speakers are not to shabby either. My only real complaint is the fabric materials used on the dash insert, center and door armrests, is rough to the touch and not very comfortable. It reminds me of burlap and needs to be changed to a more softer touch material in the Z71 trim. Other than that, this is a solid truck that is very versatile, sporty and a blast to drive. GM got it right!
