Not Reliable
I bought it brand new in 2016. There were all sorts of issues with it for 3 years. I sold it at 40,000 miles. Every 3-4 months, the computer gave a reduced engine power error that limits your speed and required maintenance at the dealership. I enjoyed the truck when it worked, but I could never trust it. I had the diesel version, which had good gas mileage and good tow capacity for the size. I had to change out the diesel tank, entire diesel exhaust system twice, 4 different sensors, and random check engine lights that only required a software update. I got rid of it before the warranty was over... I didn’t want to risk owning it outside of warranty. Very disappointing.
Diesel Engine
Purchased mine certified used at a local dealership. Honestly did not care if I had the diesel - My husband was the one who thought I needed it. After about 4 months of ownership - I love the truck. It is easy for me to get in and out of, my very short 7 year old has to use the running board to get in - but otherwise good to go. I get great mileage - commute 75 miles a day round trip - highway miles - a tank lasts me an entire week (7 days) including my weekend grocery store runs, kids activities and so on. The guys at work stop me frequently to look at the truck - they love the way it looks. That said I am not so happy with the amount of service this vehicle has required - I have had it in the shop 5 times. The radio/interactive display and turn signals have quit twice, the air conditioning needed charged (unable to locate why) The Engine Wiring harness had a bad part, and most recently the check engine light was on for a bad oxygen sensor. Then to top it off after getting it back from shop 8 days later I had a skid plate fall off of it from the front of the truck. At my next oil change the dealership plans to check the AC again so they are working on that still. While the Dealership accepted fault for this I'm having concerns about this truck and the fact that I need to have it a LONG time to get the value out of it that I paid for it.

First Chevy in a long time.
I seemed to get more for the money than I would have gotten from Nissan for their Frontier. My lease was less money and I got more options. The acceleration was better in the Nissan but the Colorado gave me more options in the vehicle. I was surprised by this since I had leased many vehicles from Nissan in the past but Chevy seemed more willing to get to my price point so they got my business. I am pretty happy so far. The vehicle drives smooth and seems to be solid. It has only been a few weeks so the honeymoon is still going on. Time will tell.

Great Midsize Truck
I have a 2016 LT crew cab colorado V6 4x4 (20,400 miles) with power assist leather heated front seats, leather rear seat, and lots of accessories (linex bedliner, chevy folding tonneau cover, chrome package, sliding rear window w/ defrost, downhill engine braking system, wheel well liners, projector headlights, mylink navigation, lane & forward distance warning systems , hill assist starting system, chrome step bars, & rainforest green metallic paint. I downsized from a full size crew cab 4x4 silverado (2011). Thus far (Apr 2018) I continue to enjoy the truck. Easy to park, driver's & front passengers seats smaller than full size Chevy but comfortable, rear seat comfortable for adult passengers, comfortable for driver and passengers on short & long trips. Rear seats fold down allowing for additional cargo carrying capability. Very little road noise at highway speeds. On the downside - no dual heat/air conditioning accessory , no integrated garage door opener, no cd player, center counsel a one hole accessory with no dividers, door storage areas narrow but okay. The "touch screen" works fine, but I am "old school" and learning curve is somewhat uphill but not difficult. The Blue Tooth phone feature is great and allows for "hands free" use of the cellular phone. Radio station selection/volume, voice assist, phone access, cruise control and other accessories are easy to access via steering wheel controls. Get the Chevy Mylink navigation system vs On star. Once the Onstar test period expires, the Chevy Mylink nav system is fully operational and accurate. I do not have requirement for Sirus radio or On Star total services. Highway and interstate speeds no problem. Cruise control excellent. Gas mileage very good (v6). you will not be disappointed with the 2016 Colorado.

Great truck
Have 3K on the truck so far and absolutely love it and have had zero problems. I am 6'2 and have no problem fitting in the truck unlike in the Tacoma and Frontier that I tested. I took off the silly air dam that took away ground clearance and put on a leveling kit. So far I've loved every aspect of the truck, especially the overall size which has been perfect for around town. The 4x4 system works great and gets you through any kind of terrain. Technology wise the truck hits the spot especially with Apple CarPlay and 4G LTE. You don't need to bother getting navigation or anything else if you have an iPhone (Android Auto coming soon as well). The only gripe I have is that the Colorado does not get the same soft touch w/ stitching interior as the GMC Canyon. All in all it's a fantastic looking and performing midsize truck.
