Bought a 2023 bmw x7 in September. Has multiple issues from day 2. Electrical issues, exit warning malfunction, emergency call assist malfunction, blinder motor needed to be replaced, etc. I finally got a trade assist after 6 months, had to put in several thousand still just to build a 2024 x7. Two days into the 2024, sensors had a problem. Got it back after one day, then the check engine light came on for an actuator for control arm. Now I’m stuck with a loaner for over one month and fighting to get a refund. I have no idea how BMW can continue to do this to customers.

    Brand New- Multiple Problems

We purchased a 2023 x7 in November 2022 with 4 miles on it. We’ve actually had the x7 in our possession 3 of the 7 weeks we have owned it. The other 4 weeks it has been in the service department. First, after owning it less than 2 weeks, randomly the car started making an awful noise on acceleration. Found out that a bolt was not secured on the transfer case in assembly. Scary. A week in the shop. Had it back a week and then multiple sensors including a drive train warning and driver assist warning kept coming on. Two and half weeks in the shop and it was allegedly “fixed.” Have had it back 3 days and now the drive train warning is back on and upon accelerating, the RPMs go extremely high but the car doesn’t go anywhere. Extremely scary. Currently awaiting a call from BMW on returning the vehicle. It’s been a week with no call. This has been my 4th brand new BMW (325ci, x5, x 5, x7) and I’ve never had an issue but I will say I’m not sure I want another one at this point.

Disappointed - Serviced 5 times in 3 months

Purchased a new BMW X7 in February 2023. Buying experience was very good. The problem is I’ve had in for service 5 times in 3 months. Three times was a faulty seat belt sensor. One time was the drive train locked up and I had to have it towed. Final time is another faulty sensor which is back ordered for a month. I love the car styling and it drives great but having to taken in for service 5 times is ridiculous. I will say the BMW service team is super friendly and helpful. I just wish I didn’t have to get to know them. So far BMW has not offered anything for my time and inconvenience. Probably will be my first and last BMW.

I have never felt compelled to write a review before. I have owned a lot of cars in my life. On the SUV side I have owned the GLC, GLE and also Range Rover sport 2012 model. Although I really loved how the GLC felt, some ways riding even better than the GLE. And I do miss my V8 in the range rover, This X7 blew me away… I’d love a plush soft ride but also a car that feels solid, and planted, especially going over bumps and at high speeds. This X7 is amazing in how it delivers both perfectly… it rides as soft as Range Rover but feels more solid. When it goes over rough roads the car has no excessive sounds, no rattling. The quality of the build is amazing. MB has always been known to have great suspension but this X7 feels so special on the road. In driving the car is so responsive and feels awake and alive. I have had the car for over a year with over 20k miles. Been very lucky because I had absolutely no issues.

    Great Ride BUT !

The X7 is an amazing car and super smooth ride. However after 14 month a computer issue popped up! The turbo blast controlled by the computer does not work. The dealer told me that for 2023 there is not fix but you can stlll drive it. They checked it but if I want to pass some one and need some power forget it. Did get the car up to 80. Waiting for the software update!

    Software Issues from Day 1

Day 1 a message popped up that here was an emergency communications system failure, related to the TeleAssist. Message cleared but did not appear again. Day 3, while using Driving Assistant Pro, attempted to change lanes on the highway and it would not let me. Kept giving warnings like there was a car in my blind spot, but there were no other vehicles around. Had to deactivate and manually change lanes. Day 7, driving along a two-lane road at about 50 mph and the car said 'emergency situation detected, car is stopping, please pull over," and there was not a thing around. Was not using any driving assist features. Had to accelerate to keep the car from stopping and steer to side of road. Message cleared. Immediately took it to the dealer and said it was unsafe for the vehicle to be choosing when to stop on its own. Has been in for three days and now dealer says the are waiting to hear back from the tech in Germany. Sigh. Had not even gotten to enjoy my new car for a week. Really disappointed in the car and myself, as I should have switched brands. This is my 7th BMW, all which had no issues, but anything build during COVID seems to be horrific. My 2021 X5 was starting to have software issues to, such as the camera going out when backing up, radio screen going blank, and other things like water coming in around the moonroof. I definitely should have headed the writing on the wall about the decline in BMW quality and switched brands. Seems like the domestics are actually taking over in quality, now. Never had a single issue with my 2020 Corvette C8. Buyer's Remorse.

The X7 is an amazing vehicle. I purchased one with almost every option back in October. The vehicle rides very well in all situations and is quiet as a library inside. Plenty of performance out of the in-line 6. No need to get the V8.. Would buy again.

    Best Vehicle I’ve Ever Bought

I was very unhappy with my 2021 Porsche Cayenne that I looked at various SUVs as a replacement. I had an X5 prior, but always thought it was a little small. When the new 2023 X7 came out, I was interested in the newly designed front end. I test drove the X7 and it was very responsive. It had a lot of power and was very fast! The X7 has lots of features and the very spacious! The new iDrive 8 is very intelligent and you can tell the car to open the sunroof or window or turn the AC temperature to a specific temperature. I highly recommend the X7! Update: 6 month later…it’s still the best SUV I’ve ever bought!!

We had traded in a Lexus LX570 for the BMW X7 and had a good experience with the dealer when placing the build. We've been overall pleased with the vehicle until a few weeks ago. We were parking the car going about 3 MPH, about 3 feet from the curb, when pressing the brakes again the car accelerated. We pressed the brakes again and the car accelerated even faster. The automatic braking didn't work and we ended up hitting a building. The driver assistant package should've applied the brakes avoiding the collision. Some other owners of the 2023 X7 posted that BMW has a software glitch with the Driver Assistant Package which ends up turning off the system BMW corporate sent an engineer to do an inspection on the vehicle. They didn't find anything and the black box indicated the vehicle was accelerating at the time of the crash. No surprise as this is what we stated from the time of the accident. Following the accident and doing a Google search, we found information on SUA (Sudden Unintended Acceleration). The auto industry seems to have an issue with this but they don't admit to it. We found posting by owners of different BMW models and years that express the same situation. Parking at a slow rate of speed, when the vehicle accelerated when pressing the brake and then accelerating even faster when pressing the brake again, ending up in an accident. We believe this is the case with our vehicle. Some articles indicate the SUA is caused by a computer error sending a message to the vehicle to accelerate when the driver is actually pressing the brakes. Additional articles question whether the black box records the correct information relating to this situation. We're looking to see what our options are, as we're concerned this may happen again and could results in a person being injured or worse.

    Smooth ride, smoother engine 2023 X7 M60i

I really enjoy driving my fully equipped 23 X7 M60i, despite some differences from my 21 Mercedes GLS 450 that I traded after racking up 67K in a 22 months! I currently have almost 16k on my 23 X7 M60i, that being said, I feel very qualified to say the following: 1. the power is simply outstanding and smooth, 2. the transmission is probably one of the best in a vehicle of this class. 3. The middle row is spacious and very comfortable (I prefer the bench seat for my family), and I love the center arm rest, 4. the professional driving package is worth the extra money, especially when driving long distances. All-in-all, I love the styling of the new X7 - it has grown on me, oh the power is just incredible, and finally it's a wonderful for long trips in the customized sport mode stiffening the suspension. Wishes, the front seats could have a bit more cushion / support, the massaging seats are not as strong as my GLS 450. Last thoughts, the 22 wheels are just fine and look incredible!
