There a too many malfunctions with the X3; 1) doors do not unlock and lock - intermittent. 2) Sunroof does not close completely - intermittent 3) Flat tire light stays on when tires have been checked by the dealer. 4) Jerks in 3rd gear. 5) Not roomy enough. 6) Does not give the BMW feel/lacks quality overall.

My BMW X3 seems to beg to be driven. It seems to be engineered to perform. The 6 cylinder has been very strong to have 130,000 miles on it. I would recommend anyone in the market for a suv to explore this option.

One heck of great car to drive. Solid and very responsive. Not like the usual SUVs. No problems at all so far.

Repair and maintenance are very high costs that must be added into owning this or any BMW. Things that never or rarely fail on other cars ofter fail in this. The two repairs that irked me were the oil pan gasket $1500 and replacing the front propeller shaft 3 times. It's also sensitive to cold weather and the cold weather oil separator is crucial or you have the potential for thosands in repairs, it handles awesome but I'll buy a Toyota next.

I received a recall notice for my X3 concerning air bags not deploying in the mail in December 2018 showing the closest dealer was grand blanc. I phoned them citing the recall notice and took it in for the scheduled appointment. (January 30, 2019 ) Service said it was a four hour job but I said I would wait for it. After 3 hours I was told they don’t carry the faulty part and it would have to be ordered . February 11 th I checked on the item delivery and was told by the bmw service manager it would be 2 more days. On March 7 I checked again without a reply. On March 28 I checked again, no answer. On April 15 the vehicle was in a collision with severe front end damage. The tear down estimate was over $10,000. Funny thing was the air bag DID NOT DEPLOY. Now, you can deduce your own conclusions about grand Blanc BMW service or driving a car with a recall notice or BMW products in general but I am going to busy checking on all the class action lawsuits against BMW and their dealers.
