This diesel replaced a much-loved 2016 version of same vehicle. Updated to 2018 version as it was last year BMW would sell diesels and wagons of the 3-series in the US. A real shame! Purchased as a CPO car in Oct 2018. As an other reviewer stated, a great long-hauler. Fun to drive, plenty of storage and excellent MPG. To date, no maintenance issues with car. Diesel cost per mile is at $0.07.

Too bad that the BMW diesel 328d was phased out. Great handling along with great fuel economy. The car is extremely well balanced between the front and back and the 18 inch wheels complete the terrific handling. Amazing range at 600 miles highway.

I have owned SUV's since before they were called that, my first Toyota 4 runner in 1987. Have owned 4 X5's lately. Bought a new 328d wagon and am stunned how a fairly heavy wagon can absolutely fly and get the mileage it does. I'm getting 5.2 liters/100 km or 42 mpg (US). Loaded with great features handling is superb and 5 star safety rating. Great rig.

The 3 series wagon is a gem of a sleeper. And if you find a diesel powered one, buy it! How can a car this powerful (X drive makes it exceptionally sure footed, especially with the incredible amount of torque this engine puts out), yet still get solid 30 ~ 40+ miles to gallon in real world driving??? I talked my wife into it...now she'll never part with it. We were lucking to get one pretty heavily equipped - only missing the surround view cameras we have on on X5, which would have made it perfect. The M package ads a very distinctive look (steering wheel looks and feels far better) and the sport seats are PERFECT in their support and adjustability for those 500+ mile drives on a single tank of diesel! We've loaded it up with all sorts of people/gear and the fold down flexibility of the rear seats can't be beat! Our daughter was out for a few days and borrowed it - loved it so much we purchased another! And you won't know it's a diesel at all - starts instantly, ZERO smoke (actually cleaner than our gas X5...exhaust pipe end stays clean!) and they refill the DEF when serviced - we've never had to add it. We've got 50k on it...and expect to keep it for twice that.

Amazing fuel economy and performance on 328D

This car was built in Germany and was well built. Can't speak for others built else where around the world. Mine has been trouble free up until now knock on wood with around 34,000 miles on it. I get old changed every 5,000 miles or so. I don't wait for the 10K factor recommends as I find that too long.I swapped out the factory run flats for the new Michelin PS4S Tires and that made a huge difference in sound/noise reduction compared to factory tires. On freeway and city driving the car get great fuel economy. If I baby it on the freeway I can get 550-600 miles out of the tank otherwise 500 is easy out of the tank. What other car can you cruise at 80 MPH and get 40MPG in?

Great grunt, speed and 40 + MPG. This car does it all. BMW quality, handles tight and zips. AWD is seamless and grippy. Love that fuel economy.

The car shows 5.4 l/100 km or 44 mpg! of mostly highway driving! I bought a 2018 diesel demonstrator and am very happy with it. The brakes don't last as long as other cars I have owned but after 96000km/60000 miles I have had to change 2 fuel injectors - glad I had an extended warranty. The first 4 years service is free and then they had a special on service so I am paying less for service than the Subaru I owned previously. It handles well for a sedan but the steering is numb - not remotely as fun to drive as the Subaru BRZ i had previously. One needs to put it into sport mode for acceleration and then it has enough power. (7.3s seconds 0-60)
