Purchased this car with 19000 miles on the clock. Have meticulously maintained since. Only significant repair was replacement of the ball joints around 100K. Other than that, only routine maintenance, brakes, tires, tune-ups and fluid changes (I switched to all synthetic). Exterior still looks like new. Plan to keep the car until she reaches 150K
Super Fun Car !!

This has been the best car! I bought it for myself, then my wife took it from me, then when our son turned 16 guess what? he took it. Great car for him. Handling is awesome!! Power is great and so is gas mileage!! No problems with this car, actually looking to buy another one in North Carolina. It now has over 235,000 miles and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across country tomorrow.
Great car

Highly underated car. More nimble than a 325ic, feels more like a sports car with the high revving motor. Throw a performance chip in it and it will smoke a 325ic automatic. Less frill than the 325, but also less to go wrong.
Great Drive

I bought a 1999 318i convertible while living in Germany and lived it! Back then, the car was 6 years old. Fast forward to the USA! My wife doesn't care for my motorcycle, so I had the crazy idea to get another BMW Cabrio! But this time, I found a 1995, black with sand and beige interior. Manually top, manual transmission and I love it! It's so hard for me not to drive it, but luckily I'm an over the road trucker so that makes it easier! I bought it from a dealer in Pennsylvania who displayed it and seldom drove it. It was the 2nd time it was at his dealership! The second owner bought it 18 years prior, then traded it in on a sedan for his son! Then I happened along. He told me that he could've sold many times except for one thing.... perspective buyers couldn't drive a stick! I drove it from Blue Bell, PA back to Concordia, KS last September, where she refused in a garage that I cleared just for her! She has needed nothing! I had the oil changed, replaced some plastic molding under the windshield, trunk lid struts, a K&N air filter and I changed the plugs! Next month I'll take her in to a BMW mechanic who specializes in Euro vehicles generally, but E36's specifically! My wife, who is also German, has yet to drive it! She's become accustomed to American pickups and automatics, plus, I think secretly she knows how much I love that car! Sometimes when we're driving, I catch her just looking at me. She says because I have this certain "look" when I'm rowing through the gears! I'm never getting rid of her! The car, I mean!
