This car checks all the boxes for me. It is fun to drive, smooth and quiet, and very practical. It was delivered in perfect condition, free from any defects. It is beautiful too, regardless of what the "boy racer" aficionados think. To get just what I wanted I ordered out and had it made. It took them a little less than 6 weeks to get it made in Germany and delivered to me. I think this is pretty darn good, since the last BMW I ordered was assembled in Spartanburg SC, USA and it took over 4 weeks. There was no learning curve at all for me to learn how to use the tech and other features on this car, since I was a returning BMW customer. BMW does a good job of training new customers with their product experts at the dealership also. The sales and service experience at my dealership have been outstanding. I am looking forward to some great road trips in this "dream machine".

This car is difficult to get in and out from and the command center is not very intuitive. I'm 6'2" and sports seats have good support but the seat section could be wider. More than enough leg room, which is great. The car has terrific storage capacity, comparable or better than many SUV's. Never have to worry about the car bottoming out on rough road or a steep driveway, as it rides fairly high. AWD gives immediate handling confidence. Update 10/17/17: Had car serviced under warranty and they replaced cracked radio buttons and reinstalled radio, eliminating annoying rattles. Of course, this did not affect performance, but I can add that I am enjoying my car much better since the rattling stopped. Update 04/18/18: Love my car more than ever. No problems at all with it. Update: 01/30/20: Noticing very an occasional minor low gear transmission clunk at 65K miles, but doesn't seem to be an issue. Frustration has grown with connecting mobile phone to car, since there is no Car Play nor ever a software upgrade, as promised. Have replaced all four tires 3 x's. Sad to see that the resale value has really plummeted. Still like my car's acceleration, comfort and style...no plans on selling.

Cup holders are horrible

Bought the car pre-owned five months ago. BMW did a disservice to the customer when they moved the cup holders to the front under the stereo. You can't fit large cups in them because they aren't tall enough. Also there isn't any storage whatsoever in the car for the driver (or the passenger for that matter). I don't know where they expect you to put things other than in the door or in the cup holders. Had to buy a wedge storage device to put between the seat and the center console just to put things in. On the plus side the car is huge. Cavernous even. My mother-in-law has a new Subaru Forester and it is bigger than that. Also tried it out in the snow yesterday and it is excellent. The car is NOT very sporty. It's really a touring car. Great on the highway but not so good on twisty back roads. Anything other than sport mode in the automatic is ridiculously slow.

Purchased the car used in 2818 with less than 50k miles. In the beginning (first 6 months), I thought this was the best investment I ever made. Then just around Thanksgiving I received a warning abo a a headlight malfunction and I went to the dealer to have the headlight changed and I've had to get the headlight change every 3 to 6 months. After having the car one year I had to spend over 3k for a sensor for the gas tank. I was stranded on the side of the road and had to have the car towed to the nearest dealership was told that I could not let the car go lower than 1/2 tank due to the sensor on the gas tank went bad and the part was not covered under the manufacturer warranty nor was it covered under the extended warranty because this is not something that dosen't normally have to be replaced and the vehicle is too new for this to particular part to need replacing. After all of this like a dummy I kept the car only for the back up camera and the back turn lights to malfunction and the issue is bigger than just replacing a few bulbs and or fuses. Buyer beware!..... I'm going back to Lexus.
