7 things which kills its vibe.

Nice looking car with good engine. No questions. However, the things below might kill all the joy: 1. Super slow-initializing entertainment system. Sometimes you need to get in cat, punch in a destination and go. Not with this car. You get it, and every time you have to wait 2-5 minutes until the car loads all the data from god knows where to god knows where. 2. Bad cell reception - no Airplay Once your phone loses signal or it becomes weak the Audi mmi disables it’s smartphone interface. So you are driving through the forest with no signal …in a very quiet car …no music for you to calm your mind and enjoy driving. With a weak signal the mmi often rebuts itself leaving you for a minute or two with a dark screen. 3. Constant rattling in the back. As long as the road is egg smooth the interior makes no noises. But as soon as you hit even the smallest bumps the back seats (the second row) starts rattling…quite annoying ..especially on a long ride. The solution - put somebody in that seat to shut it up. Or shove a hand towel between the seat and metal structure beneath it….yes, $85k car fixed by a towel … not a duck tape …yet. 4. Don’t touch the interior. It is gorgeous , nice aluminum details and shine panels …. Aluminum is a very soft metal. If you wear a wristwatch on your right hand or your passenger on their left hand, kiss good buy to you nice looking central panel. Especially a hand brake button. The interior is getting stretched just by looking at it. Amazing sensitivity. I wish its touchscreen was as sensitive as the interior. 5. You need a steady hand to cover your cargo. The cargo cover in the back must go precisely into its thread on both sides of the trunk … if you sneeze or blink while covering your cargo …well….you’ll find nice very visible scratches on the side plastic panels, below the tracks, shall you hands lead the cover downwards, or you’ll tear the fabric on the panels above shall you let your hands jump up. Won’t describe what happens if you cough during it. I’m sure you’ve got the idea. 6. Don’t carry the car key in the pockets or hands. Once you put in your pocket, the buttons on the fob are so sensitive to touch than even slight contact with anything activate it. Once I found my car at a public parking lot with its hatch completely open offering all my fancy luggage to anybody walking by. Thankfully it was Canada. No body steal in Canada, right? The only way to avoid it is to wear the car key on your neckless. It’s secure and questionably fashionable. 7. Headlights are more like head candles. I think they took headlight from ten year ago. You can barely see the road at night in a way you would see it form Toyota Prius. It’s unbelievably bleak. That’s all I’ve discovered so far after having owned for six weeks.

The driver door rattles. I have taken the car five times to get fixed, two different dealers. The money spend in the car should not rattle. I like the car otherwise.

Audi Q7 2021 Prestige.Blank Operator Screen

I've had this new vehicle for exactly 3 months now. Started having black screen. Can't operate the GPS, Climate or simply the radio. I took it to the dealership 6 days ago and Audi wanted to be involved cos of course it a new car and this problem may affect similar models. They think the screen needs to be changed. I don't know whether this will do it but they built the car so they should know. It's a NEW car! . Will wait and see. I'm not impressed. Will come back here and add to this review soon.

A great performer with a few flaws

Based solely on the driving experience alone, it’s a perfect score. Fast, comfortable and confident, the Q7 devours miles on the highway and carves corners. However, there are some “experience” elements that keep it from being flawless. The interior, while well crafted and elegant, is a little like a museum - beautiful to look at just try not to touch it. Finger prints easily smudge the dash and it’s difficult to remove crumbs and other kid related junk from the perforated and contoured seats. I’m also very adept at tech and the criticism about the MMI system is warranted. Menus are aplenty and dense to get through. The app and web based functions are also overly ambitious and complicated. Mercedes’ is far easier to use (although you can’t do as much with it). When judged on what it’s supposed to do, move people in grace, speed and comfort - it’s a great car. Just bring some wipes for the dash.

I purchase a 4 cly base model in April, so I have owned the car for 7 months. In May, and then in June, I made cross country trips between Florida and California to visit and then help parents. The vehicle was flawless in every way. It was loaded completely with 2nd and 3rd row seats to accommodate luggage, coolers, and a lot of safety equipment/tools for the trip. Crossing the Rockies and Sierra mountains were no problem for the turbo 4 all wheel drive vehicle. The installed Nav and Car Play were perfect and had no troubles. The ride was so comfortable I had no trouble driving 12 hours per day, stopping each day before sundown in hotels. I would absolutely but this SUV again, and I am sold on Audi. I know that individual vehicles can be good or bad. I have had both through the years. But I am as happy as possible with the Q7. I paid 55k for mine, being that is a base model, but with leather, Nav, Sirius Radio, wifi, sunroof, all wheel drive, adjustable suspension, automatic emergency braking, power and heated front seats, it has everything that I need. In a world where all vehicles are incredibly expensive, I consider this lux SUV as an outstanding value. I am a very happy owner.
