A4 3 Quattro Sport
22,000 miles now and the car is just getting stronger.Impecable build quality.I have not figured out yet why people do not buy cars with AWD.With the quattro I just plow on like the terminator through rain and winds. No real problems to date , only a turn signal bulb and xenon bulb needed to be replaced. Great car, Waiting for the new S4,
AUDI A4
For $28,000, the Audi A4 comes loaded with a sport package. The turbo 1.8 is fine, but get the 6 if you want more "off the line" power.
- 1.8T ConvertibleMSRP: $7,995253 mi away
- 3.0 ConvertibleMSRP: $6,989424 mi away
- 1.8T quattro SedanMSRP: $5,995435 mi away
my 2002 a4 1.8t 5m
Sport package is factory lowered. Factory tires (Dunlop SP 9090) are not the best for the snow even in all wheel drive A4. 235/45/17 all weather are pricy, but 2003 models offer Pirrelli 4 season tires that are awesome for any conditions. 2002 chips to increase boost (over 200hp and 240 toprque) are still in development by many vendors. Some offer them, but be carefull
superior quality at a decent price
I LOVE MY AUDI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
better than th couch
unbelievable! i go to the car to relax
Black Beauty
Fantastic luxury & comfort features for a car in this price range. My only complaints are lack of power, car is too heavy for a 1.8t engine, and had problems with excessive wind noise above 50 mph from the driver's side door. Latter complaint was somewhat fixed by dealer.
Great car, but reliability issues
I bought this car certified used with 43k miles on it. I have driven Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes. In general this is a great and solid feeling car. Outstanding interior which I like even better than the new models. Strong performance (acceleration a little light), and fabulous in the snow. Great car when things are working. Some reliability issues. Car got stuck in tiptronic day 1. Received flats on 3 of 4 pirelli tires that came with. Antenna had to be fixed, wipers got stuck vertical on windshield, had to replace brakes, fix broken wiper fluid tube, and engine steamed up once. I have never felt that the car would stop running on me, but things always need to be fixed.
What a Great Car!
This is the best car I've owned, to date. I ordered an Audi A-4 1.8T Quattro with manual transmission from Germany and it was delivered at the end of May 2002. I haven't had one problem with this car, not one. The build quality is superb. It handles like a dream (the Quattro is amazing!) and even the gas mileage is excellent. I've never been happier with a new car. The fact that Audi provides a complete warranty package for the first 4 years or 40,000 miles (which includes oil changes and wiper blades!!!) says something for the way Audi builds quality into their cars.
Love the car, but it's a heartbreaker!
I love to drive my A4, which makes it only more painful that it's been in the shop more times than I'd care to count. It's peppy, smooth, and easy to handle on the highway. It's beautiful inside when everything's working. But, it's had more broken electrical parts than I knew existed on a car, and every repair is crazy expensive. I wonder if they fly the parts one by one from Germany! Like others, have had multiple issues with the stereo, sunroof, various lights/indicators, relays, in addition to the dead fuel pump. Tires pop like balloons, and they're expensive, too. An expensive love, for sure.
u know it
great car very good excel and excellent steering. this the best car u can buy for its price.
Exceeds my expectations !
I have found few negatives in the 1.8T Avant. It has great room, yet it is amazing for traction and handling. Mileage has also exceeded the stated EPA numbers. There are no quality or workmanship concerns. It's leather interior is first class and so far it is without rattles or squeaks. The 1.8T engine is surprisingly smooth and quick. It has a distinct engine/exhaust noise that enhances it's "sports sedan" classification.
So much fun...
...You'll forget that you were being practical. I was most surprised to find the car had additional torque at 80 mph on the highway. The fuel efficiency of the 1.8T Quattro is an added bonus as gas prices go through the roof. I've put 20000 miles on my car this year, and plan on putting plenty more.
B6 (2002-) A4 Review
The new A4 simply blows the competition out of the water. Before I bought my a4 I looked at the 3-Series, WRX, C-Class, S60, 9-3 Viggen, and the IS300. The A4 is the best looking inside and out of its group. The quality feels much richer than the cheap looking Japanese brands and it even bettered the other Euros. The handling is 30% stiffer than the old model A4, which translates to better handling than the competition. As far as steering response the 3-series takes the cake, but in actual road holding the a4 wins hands down.Quattro lets you drive on the edge in any condition. The A4 comes with a great warranty that you can lose for a 350 hp upgrade
Id buy one again......
With 2 years and 35k passed I am continually impressed with the comfort level and fun to drive quotient that I got for my money. A re-ocurring problem with the coil packs was finally resolved. I have to comend Audi on their care for the customer. Through general maintenance at Fred Baker in which they have gone out of there way to help me, and into the Road Side assistance that rescued me 970 miles from home after my girlfriend locked BOTH sets of keys in the car.I am very impressed with the vehicle and also the level of service that stands behind it. I would buy one again.........
2003 Audi A4 Quattro--Don't miss it
This amulet red A4 3.0 is a head turner; sport suspension and 6cyl engine make for fun driving. Only complaint thus far is road noise and wiper noise are minor distractors.
Pretty, but not worth it
I bought this car used with 50,000 miles. I loved it for the first couple of months, until things started going wrong. I had to replace all the ignition coils, fuel pump, check valves, broken moonroof, broken window regulator, broken cupholder. Oh yea, and just a few months ago there was a fire, cost over $5000 worth of damage under the hood, thank goodness insurance covered it. They said either an ignition coil or the wiring harness had a malfunction. When my coolant tank cracked and wouldn't hold coolant, I decided it was time to trade it in. I loved the car, but I cant afford to keep fixing it and I don't want to be worried all the time about something breaking or catching on fire.
awesome
A4 deserves all the accolades, smooth drive, well built
2002 A4 1.8 TQ 5
Great Car! If you like performance drivin, do not expect the Gas mileage posted. Also I find my back a little after extended driving time. And what did audi think by offering ONLY manual seats. The sports Package with the 17in wheels is a must at only $1000
Pretty Impressive
Out the gate I was pretty impressed ! low price compared to Merc and bmw. good value for what you get.. the Quatro corners like its on rails !
Unbeliveable stock car.....
I have driven a lot of car's in my life time... And I have always been into performance...(Owner of a nostagia Top Fuel Dragster that does 5's in the 1/4 mile) But My Audi A4 is just a blast to drive... Comfort, and luxury is second to none... And the service I get with valet parking... My corvette only dreamed of such showcasing....
2003 Audi A4 Quattro 5A
We were deciding between a BMW 330i and an Audi A4. Audi won due to value and more of an updated interior/exterior. Beautifully laid out interior and lighting. Extremely comfortable seating. The tiptronic mode and sport mode for the Audi works very well although not as well as the Audi A4 with the CVT transmission or the BMW 330i. When driving the the A4 hard, this vehicle has excellent grip and braking, and decent acceleration. The lighting system for night time driving is a site to behold. All lights in the interior are red and easy on the eyes yet clear to read (looks like an airplane cockpit) with Xenon lights that really light up the road in front of you.
great car!!!!
I've driven mine all over Texas and have failed to see one flaw yet. Audi did a great job with this car. I see some people have had some problems but mine is great so far.
Good Car
It is very reliable and low maintenance. The interior and exterior design is fabulous. I'm a little disapointed by the performance (when in automatic mode). There's a slight hesitation when trying to accelerate (esp. from a standstill). The tiptronic aleviates all of these performance problems at the cost of remembering to shift gear.
Best 4x4 car on the planet...
If you havent driven one of these in the snow, you just dont know what you are missing.. truely awe inspiring
Best luxury sport sedan under 35K
I bought my Audi A4 3.0 after test- driving BMW 3 series, Audi 1.8T, Mercedes 240, Acura 3.2TL Type S, Infinity G35, and Saab 9-3 Arc. They all drove very well, but the Audi was the best value for money. I got the car for $600/- over invoice. I must say that I am very happy with the buy. The accleration is good, the CVT gives a very smooth acceleration. The car is quite even at 90 mph. Gas milage is excellent, a full tank of 17 gallons goes 475-550 miles. Bose stereo rocks. Display looks rich. Interior is very high quality. The controls on the steering wheels are very convenient.
This car has been a dream
Bought this car in July 2003, it is now Sept 2003, and have 7,700 miles on it already. Not a single problem and it is a dream to drive on highways and back roads. Recent heavy downpours were plowed through with nary a whimper. The attention to detail is remarkable.
Best Auto I've Ever Owned
I am am currently very satisfied with my Audi A4 1.8T Quattro sedan. The handling is precise, especially in foul weather, and gives an overall feeling of confidence. Quattro is what sealed the deal. The cabin is well appointed and comfortable. Also love my dolphin gray metallic paint. There are only two other Audi owners in my small city, so my A4 gets a lot of looks... even from teens. My family is proud that we own an Audi.
Warning about 2003 A4
Beware, it appears the new 2003 3.0 A4s may have a serious electrical problem with the engine. Unfortunately our new A4 (2 months old) broke down with about 4,000 miles on it due to this engine electrical problem. No parts in the US to fix it and so far the dealership has been unable to get parts to fix it from Europe. We're concerned that we may need to use our state's lemon law to return the car and get out money back if it takes forever to find a fix. Extremely disappointed after paying nearly $39 K for a mostly loaded car.
Excellent Engineering/Reliability
I have found the build quality of this car to be excellent. The stiffness adds to a rock solid ride. Very stable which is good. Good performance and looks as well. Interior quality is benchmark in the auto industry.
A4
I wish my other car was this one too...but I guess one is enough, I'm broke now, but I love driving everyday.
Former Wrangler Owner
I bought my A4 and immediatly drove it the 1600 miles home. The car was so comfortable my passanger and I barely noticed driving over 8 hours a day. It handles wonderfully in rain and snow. I got the premium package and cold weather package for around 28k, great deal!
Total Satisfaction
Absolutely satisfied with the A4. It's fun to drive, looks great and is extremley comfortable in all situations. While not blazingly fast off the line, it's incredibly quick from 30mph up.
Great car for the money
The best car you can buy for under $30K
Fun Car
A-4 1.8T is a dailey commuter. It has been a definite head turner and people come into wife's office to ask her about it. She loves the comfortable seats, style and it's a RED convertible.
audi review
great fun to drive, handles well, feels safe in all weather conditions, performance is excellent, interior is comfortable, back seat leg room slightly small and trunk slightly small.
fun ride-super service
can't understand consumer guides rating of "unreliable". maybe this will come to pass after the warranty expires but at this moment it is a joy to ride. fit and finish is outstanding. The cvt trans.is a remarkable innovation. On extended trips i have averaged 35mpg. my only suggestion to Audi would be to develop a better way to adjust the passenger seat. for a beautiful car of this quality ,i can't understand why it isn't power. great car---good value.
A -stands for Awesome!
Just picked up my new A4 QM with sport, cold and premium packages. The car is awesome, extremely stable and secure.... nothing like my old slob, I mean Saab. If you are looking for a sharp looking car that you will be able to drive in any kind of weather conditions, this is it. Period. +
Great Car
The quattro system allows you to do what others can not. The handling is phenomenal and all in a luxurious environment.
A4
I was comparing this car to the IS 300, but then I drove both cars and didn't think for another sec.
Great car for the price!
Good combination - great price.
Bye Bye BMW
Expired lease on BMW X5 4.4 had me longing for a small sports car with better (although not great) mileage. Since I don't often carry passengers the A4 seemed perfect. I am in love already after 1 week. 6 speed manual, great on curves, and easy on the eyes. Everything just right, and the dealer and salesman were just about the best I've ever deal with. Quoted their costs (correctly) and honored web prices.
Amazing car
I have had my Audi A4 for 9 months and it is by far the most fun I have ever had in a car. The interior is beautiful and plush and it looks so nice going down the side of the road. But when you are driving down the road and are able to have the wind in your face going at high speeds you'll never drive a car the same again.
Totally Sweet!!
This is a fun, fast vehicle. I looked at a BMW 330 and felt that the A4 was a much superior vehicle. Not only that, but it's a better value!
Great car for anyone
First you look at this car, you will fall in love with it. That's exactly what i did, and i am still in love with it. The beauty of exterior and excellent interior design captivates you from the beginning. As the days pass by, you will fall in love with the driving quality and steering also. Great car for anyone.
A4
Very comfortable ride, smooth and quiet interior, a joy of a drive.
highs are high and the lows are LOWS
For value and performance, no other car compares. It is a complete joy to drive (when everything is working), comes well- equipped with all the latest safety features standard. If only it was as reliable as a TOYOTA... I've been to the dealership a dozen times (mostly for turnsignal failures) and now the car stalls about once a month and this car is barely a year old! From reading consumer reviews I was aware of the reliability issues but hoped the all-new design would be better. Traded in an Infinity G20t to sacrifice reliability for performance. This is probably the first and last time I'm buying an Audi.
Wish I'd NEVER bought this car!
I test drove a lot of cars before I purchased the Audi and this one seemed like the most fun and by far looked the best. That was where the fun ended...Radio went dead after 1 week, one headlight went out, then another a few months later, then had to pull over on a major highway because coil pack went bad at which time the tire also shredded (which Audi refused to replace), air conditioner smells like mildew and now neither gas gauge registers. Now I'm in the process of getting rid of the Audi (which no one will buy for more than 19K and I paid 31K for it brand new and fully loaded 10 months ago). So much for a fun car!
A4 Sedan
My dad bought me this car. It has all the safety features, luxury amenities, and performance I expect from a German car.
Audio Problem
I bought a Audi A4 1.8T about a month ago. It runs good and is getting better and better as I get used to it. This is definetely well-built car but not electronically reliable.
Engine Ignition Coils Fail
My wife's 2nd A4. At 10,000 miles, two ignition coils failed-car undrivable. Dealer had car for one month. Had car back one week-third coil failed. Begged them to replace the fourth(final)coil. Audi won't let them (not enough parts). My wife is afraid to take the car anywhere beyond our neighborhood for fear of being stranded a third time Audi Client Services totally unresponsive. The dealership had over 20 A4's and A6's in the lot waiting for parts. Dealer says their hands are tied. Audi should be recalling these ignition coil problems, not waiting for them to fail.
