Used 2006 Acura TL Sedan Consumer Reviews
So Happy
I bought my 2006 TL in Nov 2005. I was at the Orlando car show and had thought about a lexus. I even went and test drove the lexus. After that test ride I felt the lexus looked too conservative for me. I was then off to the Acura dealership. 1 test drive is all it took & could not be happier!! Its sporty and rides great. I get compliments on the car all the time. I am anal about being clean so I even wipe the car down before it comes out of the garage to keep it with a new look. My love of music sounds great in the car also. Great sound system as well! Acura fan always in Orlando:)
Bargain Performance
Wanted something that looked good, and performed well. This is my 2nd TL, had a 2000 and this one is much better. Looked at Maxima, BMW 325, G35 and this was the best value.

Almost great
The gas mileage is not what I was led to expect. I get only about 22-23 mpg average. I got 20-21 mpg on my 7 series BMW! Very fun to drive! Very reliable!
Back to a sedan
I just bought this Acura after having SUVs for 11 years. I work for the fed & our 2008 travel budget was cut, so I didn't need an SUV for work-related events any more. Saw this car on my favorite dealer's website - one drive was all it took. Love the performance, reliabilty, et al. Interior is much wider than a comparable Infiniti. The dealer underpriced the car, so I bought it that afternoon. Mileage isn't great esp when the heater is on. I park at a commuter lot all day & only drive 110 mile p/week now for work, but mileage is still not what I expected. Love driving down to the Cape with it - like a bullet on the hwy. Fast, steady, smooth, balanced
Just All Right
Love the car, with the exception of the interiror quality. After looking at several vechicles, I went with the Acura because I thought the car was fun to drive, looked great, and I liked the idea of an all-inclusive package. I understand this is considered a "luxury" vehicle, but I'm getting a little tired of spending $200+ every time I have to service the car. The TL is high maintenance, and very expensive to own, especially with the current gas prices. The gas milage is not great. In 10 months of ownership, I've spent $325 to replace 1 tire, then probably another $750 on scheduled maintenance. Great car, but be prepared to see your bank account take a hit! Not for the cost-cautious!
Simply Superb!!
Great car with great value for money. Car is loaded with awesome standard features but most important thing is reliability and performance and TL is best in both. During an emergency I have to drive it to Canada in world record 6 feet snow and snowstorm and I must thank TL for reliably taking to my destination. Just take it up for routine maintenance and you will be fine. Very silent car....in the same price range and same power, BMW 328i does not provides even half the features. but then BMW is BMW but anyways...always remember...its great great value for your money. Don't forget...its features are so user friendly that you don't even need to read User Manual even once! A must test drive!
Reliable luxury car!
My car is 10 years old and I have had relatively few repairs. I would definitely recommend the Acura line of cars!

Like New
An elderly lady had owned this vehicle until the second owner-seller bought it when it needed a new engine. It had been stolen and wrecked by a thief who didn't know how to drive a stick shift, hilarious actually, fully restored. It was in Like New condition exterior and exterior when we bought it.. Seller had replaced the engine, batteries, brakes, tires. Looks and drives like it just came off the New Car Lot.

Acura TL - a bat out of hell
The new Acura TL is a fun to drive, reliable, fast and good looking sport sedan at a resonable price. It appeals to young and old drivers with plenty of features and lives up to its name. Over-all I think its if not the top sports sedan, is one of the top 5 sports sedan in its class. But just remember, there is not a perfect sports car out there that appeals to everyone, but many different sports sedan to choose from.
Buy the Maxima
I guess I'm the one to throw cold water on the rest... I purchased my Acura for "something different", having owned 2 Maximas (04 & 01). I want my Nissan back! Call it nit pickin', but here's my list... tires (everyone knows 25,000mi max)... lights that don't automatically come on... and don't go off when car is off... no ability to change CDs via wheel controls... terrible gas mileage... no ability to lock car while running (I live in WI for God's sakes!).. headlights are weak.... pass through is a joke.. my Maxima could accommodate 2x4's as the seats went down vs cubbyhole opening.. no compass in mirror.. cheap!.. finger pinching glove box opening.. no power st.wheel adjuster. Save $4000-Maxima!
You get what you pay for
Nice car, not awesome when you are use to driving a BMW. I traded my 5 series bimmer in around January, boy I miss it...this car just does not measure up in performance, if you like bimmers...I will keep it the remaining of the year and get me another bimmer in January '07. Don't get me wrong, it is really a nice car, except with minor issues of the interior compartment I think this car is a 8 out of 10! Performance wise, it cannot touch BMW. Bimmer lovers don't waste your time.
Not that impressed
I was not impressed with this vehicle. The seats were uncomfortable and the ride is too rough. I know it's suppose to be kind of sporty, but I also expected a more comfotable ride. It was an automatic but switched gears (on it's own) like a stick. It would sometimes idle high when I wasn't pressing on the gas. I traded it in, in 6 months. Wasn't for me.
first 90 days
Mine is The A Spec setup, So far it has been a remarkable ride, The Looks with the A-Spec kit gets nothing but envious looks it is NightHawk Black Pearl, With dark tinted windows, the ride the performance are near perfect, Mileage is close to 25 mpg. No complaints greta value for the Dollar's spent
Back to Acura
Bought this car after much research on features and value compared to BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Infinity. Beautiful ride for the money with a comfortable interior. I get many compliments on the style and color (Royal Blue Pearl). So many features I am still learning.
Do not be fooled
Saw it in the showroom and fell in love with the style. Had to have it so I traded in my BMW. Well, I drove it about 90 miles when I became extremely uncomfortable. I turned on the heated seats to help. they took way too long to heat up and when they finally did, they turned off? Not good... The car had a thousand miles on it when it started rattling and rattling and rattling. Almost slid off the road when driving in snow. Absolutely no traction. When you hit the gas, it hesistates. The car just feels wrong. If you are a driver you'll know what I mean. I am certainly going back to BMW! Acura keeps trying but will never catch the Ultimate Driving Machine!
A good design not implemented well
Replaced my 2003 TL with this car, big disappointment. The 2003 has been silky smooth and this car is jittery and jerky. It has more torque than previous generation, but you get alot more noise in the cabin, and the hard ride shakes the car loose and create rattles. This car is a good buy if you ONLY travel on perfect roads. I am in PA where the roads are like the moon surface, therefore rattles all over the cabin, some even resonate with engine vibration when you hit the gas. Honda is not spending enough time to fine tune the mechanical of this car as it does before, instead, tries to allure customers with a ton of electronics----not a good way to go
You will be very happy with this car
I recently traded in my 03 TK with 85k for this and what an upgrade! I REALLY liked my 03, but this model and year is a real treat, better performance, better fuel economy and more room on the inside as well. More toys to play with and the Navi system is a must have and worth the cost.
driver
Great vehicle for your money. Can't find better car for that much. Great space also, with perfect rear seats.
Great car/bad tires
Great ride/interior. Good cornering and stopping. Low noise level. Can't wait for the new 2007 with beefed up engine.
Great car
Just purchased this for my wife. This is best car that we have ever owned. Great ride, very smooth. Excellent acceleration. Nothing about this car that we do not like. Look forward to many years of comfortable safe driving.
