3rd TL and counting

Had 2 Legend LS prior to 2000 TL and 2003 TL S type. Lease was up on S type and loved all previous Acura's...so this was a natural progression. All TL's had Navi...as a R/E agent it is very usefull because Phoenix AZ is growing like a weed. Still the best bang for your buck. Everything works like it is supposed to do. Special ceramic tint works like a charm in blocking out extra harsh PHX heat and damaging ultra violet rays. Will buy another when lease is up. Handles like a true sports sedan and cockpit is perfectly layed out. Passangers have said the back seats were most confortable and sound system is awsome.

What I wanted was a sporty car. I needed SOME utility, not just a two seater with loads of power. I also wanted to have some quality and a few bells and whistles. Boy does this car deliver! It looks regal with a touch of attitude. Step inside it and the leather brings a smile to my face. There is plenty of room without feeling crammed, and it isn't huge. Suspension is somewhat tight, but not stiff allowing a comfortable suspension ride and perform well on fast cornering or take offs if I choose. The stereo system is sweet and I love the steering controls. Now the downsides - if you really call it that. Gas mileage isn't the greatest, and there is a learning curve on the navigation.

Test drove many competitors and the winner was the TL. Great handling for fwd (which I want for traction in the north country) and you do not notice the torque steer unless the vehicle is taken to the limits, which few people do on a regular basis. Everything is standard on the TL. This vehicle is really fun to drive. The only problem I have is trying to get my wife out of the driver’s seat.

Tested: A3, M35, Passat V6. M has even more tech, but is +$14k. Passat is fast, but dealers not so good, reliability suspect. A3 drove great, a little small. TL best use of HP, Lux, Sport, Tech. Quiet, fast, smooth; roomy, beautiful tan interior. 31mpg hw! Navi better than M (note: TSX, RL have newer "firmware", more voice commands, Zagat). Voice recog. is accurate; Map is intuitive, not bossy, or verbose! Fast recalc; can input by point/clicking on distant cities for routes; Displays logos. Dials #s found on Nav w/Handsfree Cell. Stereo/XM Sat has stunning clarity. Dealer: "free tires for life"; car washes; loaners. Must spend $50k to top TL. Use $ for DVD-A's, bluetooth cell!

This is the second Acura I drive. First one was a small Acura 1.6 TL sold only in Canada. I am impressed with the quality of this Acura TL and the features it has for this price compared with other models. The car is a blast to drive and the quality of interior is excellent. It looks very nice from exterior. I found the sound from the audio system great and I can barely wait to purchase and try the first DVD-audio. I played only regular CDs so far. I found both manual/automatic shift as a plus and handy for people in love with manual transmission. I don't have too many complaints so far. I drove this car for less than a month only.

I've always had V6 Honda Accords, loved them all, and was ready to buy a 2006 but couldn't find a good color combination. Moved to the Acura TL based on reputation, looks, and color combinations and I'm so not sorry! It is a hot car - it looks good, has all the creature comforts, is great to drive, has more speed than I'll ever need (but love it!), and it is incredibly sturdy and safe. This car is everything awesome about an Accord, and so much more! The only sad thing is that the surround-sound stereo doesn't have much chance to perform because the music industry hasn't produced many surround-sound cds! I'd definitely recommend this car for every reason.

I bought my TL after 10 years of driving the Denali. I thought it would take a while to get used to sitting down low but after driving for one week I knew I'd made the right choice. It is so much fun to drive and the gas mileage is awesome. I get 34 on the highway. The luxury inside the car is awesome as well. The a/c dials down to 58 degrees and in this hot Texas weather it is awesome! I looked at a lot of cars and this car for the money couldn't be beaten. I got the 18" chrome wheels, wood trim inside and some extra body moldings outside and I get so many compliments! My girlfriend has a BMW 550 and she is just smitten with my TL.

The car drives as if it were driving on air. THAT, is how smooth the drive is. The handling of the car is absolutely impeccable. Absolutely stunning suspension. The interior makes one feel like a king, with it's 8" touchscreen navi along with the voice activated commands. The car itself is a very attractive looking car, especially with the A-spec bodykit. Overall, there really is NOTHING to complain about for such a car in its class...

For the money, this car is outstanding, both in preformance and comfort. I am an outside salesman, and drive many miles. If I take a client out to lunch, they are amazed with all of the features this car has. As a kick, I usually let them drive it, telling them to push it to the limit. Some of these customers drive cars that cost MUCH MORE then what I paid, and they are VERY impressed. I think that I have swayed at least two of my customers into buying a TL. I have always owned Honda automobiles, my last one is still parked in my garage, a 1997 Honda Accord with over 300,000 miles on it. I still drive it, but it is not as fun as my new TL!!!!

Acura TL with Nav 6 Month Review

Six months later I still love this car. For a 3.2 the car has ample power and maneuvering is perfect. Turning radius and steering are very good. The navigation in this vehicle is the best I've seen on the market. Entering new addresses needs to be made easier, but it is not a big deal. The interior is laid out perfectly and I really like the blue backlit dash. The seats are firm but comfortable. Mechanically the car is perfect. You can tell the Acura is a quality build. I switched to Acura from two prevous Nissan Maxima's. Qualitywise the Acura is far better than the Nissan. I believe the Acura is in need of a few new features which I have outlined below.

My TL was a superb choice in my price category. The only issues I have is they have problems with their front windshield, as mine was broken and I have heard of others, also car should really be a rear wheel drive to counter the stability problems when really putting on the speed, either at start up, or passing. The rear exterior design is very boring with the TSX/RSX more sporty. It should be the other way round IMHO.

This is my first luxury sedan. I had 2001 Camry and wanted to go for German car either Bimmer or Audi. I did lot of ground work by comparing all the cars in the 30+ category. I was always going back to Acura 3.2 TL because of its new look and field more over it comes with so many features (XM satellite radio, blue tooth, and voice enabled navigation) with lesser price than Bimmer and Audi. I had test drive and I felt the car is so stable and good. The sales person was very nice and explained every thing. The buying experience was hassle free. I am driving this car for the almost one month. It is fun to drive. The Surround sound system and navigation is really awesome. Good luck!

I was looking for a nice plush car. I test drove a 07 Camry, 06 TL and 06 Accord. The TL won me over due to appearances. At first I had some trouble with rattling in glovebox, but it turned out to be two loose screws, probably from the dealership when they installed music link for iPod.

The TL is a great performing car. Cost of the TL was very attractive to me when compared to an equally equipped Cadillac CTS or Lexus 350, Infiniti etc. The quality has been exceptional. Other than following the computer for regular maintenance, the TL will probably never see the mechanic. The reliability of Acura is tops.

I had a volvo previously and I liked that car. I bought this car, since the S60 is outdated and this car is definitely the best buy, nice dash layout and the most friendly car I've had. The navigation system is by far the best available in the market. The car rides fine if handling is not a key factor. At high speed and when taking curves there are some lateral unwanted moves that make you lose control of the car.

The Acura TL is the best blend of luxury and performance that you'll find at this price point. It has outstanding power for a sedan with a wide and very drivable powerband. It had a beautiful, well finished interior. Especially so in the two tone color combinations. The seats are very comfy and supportive enough to keep you from sliding too much during agressive driving. On top of all of this it maintains good fuel economy given its power. Only downside has been the 6 speed manual gear box which is occasionally fickle about going into 3rd on quick shifts. Though reportedly this can be dealt with by using a different gear oil. Overall I think its a top runner in a very competitive class.

This car rocks!! The stickshift is lots of fun, the brakes are awesome, all the toys that are standard make the car interesting and fun. I am amazed that Acura could build such an incredible car for such a good price. An equivalent BMW (5 series) would cost 20K more and the Lexus (250/350) is to small and doesn't come with nearly the amount of standard features. I use the car as a family sedan, which it has more than enough room for, but it drives and feels like a sports car. The NAV combined with XM is simply awesome.

Folks I've owned just about every type of import on the market, and I'm here to tell ya that there is no better value than the Acura TL. I'm one of the few people left who still prefers a clutch pedal, and Acura is more than willing to cater to me! Buying the stick doesn't make the car less expensive, but Acura hooks you up with Brembo 4 Piston brakes up front with pretty black calipers that read "Acura." DOES NOT perform like a BMW, DOES NOT ride like a Lexus, interior IS NOT as nice as an Audi, but come on, I paid $31k for this thing! Really should be rear wheel drive, then I think it could take a 3 series. Torque steer isn't bad, you get a better diff and reprogrammed software with the 6M!

I've had my TL for a little over a year now. I love this car. I've only owned Acuras, so I'm a little biased. My last car was a Legend, so I'm used to Acura's quality. Love the sound system, navigation, and HID headlights. I also got the A Spec package (best decision I've made), I get looks all the time at the 18 inch rims. Was thinking about Nissan Maxima, Infiniti G35, and Mercedes C350. Decided on Acura which was the best decision. Plus the reliability has been outstanding. Never in the shop except for one service at 12000 miles (I use synthetic oil).

Overall, an excellent car and just a few misses on interior fit like lining up the aluminum trim on the right side of the dash with the door trim. Some interior ticks and creaks now and then from the dash. Nice materials though. Power, comfort, lots of do-dads and nice sound system. Too bad DVD audio did not make it universally. Hard to find good DVD audios. Handles like a front driver and lots of understeer but controllable and improved from the 2002 model. Rides nice and not too noisy for a Honda product. Stock tires a joke and wear fast.

I drive mostly in town and have had a few weekend road trip excursions. This car is fun to drive! The handling is responsive, cornering is almost too easy, and the "get-up-and-go" factor is there when you want it. The leather interior is quality all the way around. The car is perfect for a midsized family of four. It has the feel of a two seater, yet room in the back for 2 passengers, 3 if you really need it.

I'd had my eye on the TL for several years because of my long experience with several Hondas - I was ready to step up. I researched for several months and ordered the 2006 TL as soon as it was available. So far I have just over 1000 miles on it without the any problems. I'd read about some rattles, vibrations, etc... but I've had none - I think those are exceptions. I do have a couple of chips on the front right fender so I'm watching the paint for durability. I love the looks, the power, comfort, outstanding audio system and navigation system. It's fun to drive and a great value!

Before buying this car, I test drove the G35, CTS, ES, 330i, and Mercedes C. All of these vehicles are very much on their game, but the TL edged them out for me. 258 horses and 233 pounds feet torque, the only option is whether or not you want the TL with Nav, and what type transmission you desire. Price wise with all the same options, the competition could not compete. This car handles like a dream, and man is it quiet. I wish the information screen was placed in the Nav screen, and the now famous key fob was an option. I will tell you, if you are in the market for a Luxury Sedan without breaking the bank, the TL is more than worth a look!

We bought this car as a "weekender" for leisure driving, and let me tell you, the weekend can't get here fast enough. This car leaves virtually nothing to be desired in the driveability, power, and handling departments for cars in this class. It handles curves like a dream. The more you push it, the tighter it seems to grip the asphalt. The term "fun to drive" is clearly an understatement for describing this machine.

Bought my TL in November 2005. Was going to go with the BMW 325 or Lexus IS 250 because of AWD vs. FWD (snowy northeast). Wasn't an issue this year due to lack of snow, but even the few storms we had the car did just fine in the snow. For all of the luxury, power and great price, FWD vs. AWD should not be a issue for anyone with winter driving concerns! Had a few issues with scratches when I got the car - dealer took care of the problem right away. Heard a squeaking noise coming from the engine area a few weeks ago whenever I turned the wheels. Not sure what was going on but noise stopped. Service dept. checked it out right away and nothing found.

This is our second TL and we have a bias for Honda/Acura and the TL in particular. Few other automobiles have the mix of luxury, quality, performance, value and style. The exterior of the car is distinctive with crisp body lines that create interesting shadow and shape covered in a flawless paint finish. Inside the 06 TL you find nothing less than top of the line leather seating, fine carpet and details you would only expect in a much more expensive German sedan. The ergonomics of the interior are excellent and seats are supportive. Power and handling of the car are excellent and above the rest of the class save for the BMW 330 with which the TL competes. The car is Best of the Best.

Previous to owning the TL I had a purchased new Jaguar XK8. While I miss the "sizzle" of the Jag, the Acura has it beat by a long shot in terms of comfort, style, performance, reliabililty, quality of workmanship, etc. The car does not break!

All it took was sitting inside my car and the beautiful interior... driving only sealed the deal. I didn't choose the navigational system, didn't feel the need to spend the money. Other than the tires on my car, I love it. The tires are not suited for the car and have a "flat spot" that causes the car to shutter at 50 mph until the tires are warmed up.

I purchased an Acura TL after owning a BMW 325. I was sure i was going to get another BMW but from the start of test driving the Acura TL I was sold. The TL's attention to interior detail is great it has metal and carbon fiber accents. The navigation has a touch screen and the car has interior blue lights. The drive is second to none when the TL's VTEC kicks in you better be holding on, it takes you to 160 mph with out hesitation, that's right I said 160 mph.If you want to own a winner buy an Acura TL, you won't regret your investment.

JUST...ONE...WORD...WOW! I've only had one type of car my whole life GERMAN! 7 Mercedes-Benz and 2 BMW 5-Series within my immediate family. This car has been the best car I've ever owned. Not driven, but owned. The whole package I got fully loaded for under $34,000! I test drove the 2006 BMW 530i and Mercedes-Benz E500 and didn't think twice before buying this Acura TL. The BMW and Mercedes cost nearly or more than twice as much for the same features the my Acura TL came with. Besides the fact that it's 3 times as reliable and much lower cost maintain. It drives very good too.

I bought my 2006 TL in Nov 2005. I was at the Orlando car show and had thought about a lexus. I even went and test drove the lexus. After that test ride I felt the lexus looked too conservative for me. I was then off to the Acura dealership. 1 test drive is all it took & could not be happier!! Its sporty and rides great. I get compliments on the car all the time. I am anal about being clean so I even wipe the car down before it comes out of the garage to keep it with a new look. My love of music sounds great in the car also. Great sound system as well! Acura fan always in Orlando:)
