I have had my RDX now for 1.5 months and I love it. It is the most fun car to drive that I have ever owned. The power is great! The cornering on snow and ice has been exceptional. I have already been through 3 blizzards! I never dreamed that this car would be so much fun! Sound system is the best ever experienced!

Reliable and sporty small suv

This review is on my moms 2007 Rdx, bought new in 2006 on my recommendation, which I have driven on and off over the past 10 years, including 10 hour road tips, mountain ski trips in the snow, etc. She now has around 100k miles on it and has not had a single trip for unscheduled maintenance in that time. Acceleration is quick for an suv and the handling is sporty and precise. Ride is quite firm, you will feel every bump in the road, but the chassis feels solid. The sh-awd handles great in the snow and it was a great vehicle to take on ski trips. Passenger and cargo space is reasonable and visibility is good. Stereo is good and materials are nice but not overly luxurious. Only negatives are requiring premium fuel for the turbo engine, and averaging only around 18mpg (90% stop and go city driving.). Road trips to the mountains I would be lucky to eek out 23-24 mpg. Buy this for its Honda reliability and being fun to drive, not for its gas mileage.

GREAT LOW COST VEHICLE FOR A DAILY DRIVER

BRAD MARSHALL, 05/24/2021

I bought my 2007 Acura RDX (base model) about 18 months ago. I needed a vehicle just for my self, but with the capacity to handle up to 4 adults in reasonable comfort, All Wheel Drive to deal with any type of weather that we get in west central Canada. This RDX has checked off all the boxes for me. I bought the RDX in January of 2019 with 200,000 km (124,300 miles) on it. The car was solid. No squeaks, rattles, or clunks. Engine is quick to respond, quiet and powerful for inline 4 cylinder. The turbo has no noticeable lag when you do put your foot down to pass or blend into traffic on the freeway. Premium fuel is recommended. I have put on over 20,000 km and other than regular maintenance the only part to be replaced was throttle position sensor ($300.00 for diagnostics, parts and labour). Interior has more than enough room for me. I am 6 ft. tall and not slim. the seats are comfortable and the position of the controls on the dash and the steering wheel are laid out well. The air conditioning and heating are very good. There is sometimes a noise that sounds like moan or low grawl when the vent door for the air direction controls are changing. Strange when you first hear it, but not a problem once you understand what is going on with the vacuum and switching system and it only occurs for a few seconds. The Acura all wheel drive system or SH-AWD is very good. through 2 winters of driving in some very nasty cold and snow conditions the vehicle has never been stuck. There are times that I wished the car had a bit more ground clearance, but I have not had any damage to the undercarriage and the plastic valance on the front has deflected snow, ice and and debris away well. The RDX cargo area is good very well designed. There is a package tray that covers the rear area to keep items out of sight, but it is removable if you need more room. The package tray fits into the rear floor in suck a way that it does not take up any space or make the floor un-even. I have had other vehicles that when you remove the solid or roll-up cover from the rear cargo area there is no place to put them so that they are out of the way. A small issue, Yes, but when you see how Acura has dealt with this small issue you begin to understand how they look at other issues on the interior of their vehicles. The interior cabin air filter is easy to locate and change. The sound system is wonderful. AM-FM and a 6 disk CD player. 6 speaker + a sub-woofer provide great sound. The vehicle information system provides great feedback to the driver. indicators for doors not closed, tire pressures low and tire location are very helpful. Oil service life is indicated from 100% (new) down to the oil life being depleted. At 15% oil life remaining the indicator showed up upon every start up. Service by time items are presented as codes and can be found in the owners manual or on line. If you like to do your own oil changes, like I do, the RDX is very well set up for that. The engine oil filter and drain plug are easily accessible by jacking up the front right of the vehicle. MOBIL 1 is the recommended engine oil. The same can not be said for the transmission fluid. The dip stick is easily accessible to check the fluid, but if you need to add ATF the fill cap can not be reached without removing several items behind the battery in the engine bay. Get this along with the transfer case and trans-axle fluids serviced at the dealership. I am very please and surprised at how much I enjoy my 2007 Acura RDX. I plan to get another one when I decide to part with this one, but I don't think it will be leaving our family as my Grand Daughter will be driving in a few years and I think it will be a perfect vehicle for her. My wife is also looking at buying an RDX to replace her 2017 VW Tiguan. As a 14 year old vehicle I think I have a winner and I would not hesitate to take this vehicle on a long distance trip today.

I bought mine used with 100,000 so it could be that just the previous owner didn't maintain it. It was a pretty sad ending for me. At first i loved it infact i still have not found a car that has such comfortable driver seat. From the armrest on the door to the adjustability of the steering wheel it was just so well designed. The trubo flet great! It couldn't through you back in your seat but it was a gradual and nice acceleration. This crossover felt like more of a gate way to a sport car notwithstanding though it looks like a minny van. Gas mileage as expected didnt get much better than 24 mpg but for a 2007 not bad. My main complaint is that once i got a sensor it was impossible to fix. The o2 sensor went out and then everything went out spent about 2,000 to repair in one month but eventually i just had to let go

I bought this car to replace a small hatchback that got totaled in an accident. I feel very comfortable with all its safety features, and it handles very well. I never was fan of SUVs, but I really love this car. I was looking at the BMW, but in the end I thought the RDX was simply a better ride. I also like the fact that I don't see these very often since it's a new model. I live in L.A., and I think I've only seen one or two others on the street. It's a very hip car!
