2012 Volkswagen Passat SEL Premium 4dr Sedan (2.5L 5cyl 6A)
This car is great. Very enjoyable to drive and loaded with all kinds of goodies. Excellent value. The Fender sound system is beautiful. Handling is nice and tight. Great car, so far. I've only had it for 1.5 weeks, so hopefully no surprises.
Tweaks needed: The touch screen interface is pretty slow. It usually takes a few seconds before there's any reaction. When highway driving, that can be an big issue. Also, the trunk is difficult to close. I'm a 5'11', 200 lb guy, and when I give the open lid a tug, not only does it not close, it re-opens completely. I have to give it some effort for it to close on the first try.
Fender audio system and handling. Also, many goodies for the price.
Speed up the touch screen interface because it's way too slow; Add a USB port; Lengthen the iPod interface chord or put it in a more convenient location for the driver, because having it behind your right elbow is not conducive to safe driving; Make the trunk easier to close, including reversing the pull-down handles so that your palms are not facing you when you're pulling down. Or, adding an auto-close trunk feature to the fob and a button on the trunk lid.
I have the same car and the touch screen is indeed slow. But, if you turn off the key tone feedback (the beep you hear when pressing buttons), the system will speed up significantly. You can find it in the option screen.
