Nissan juke is an engineering flawed mess. Everybody is having the same issue we had. The timing belt snaps at a mile after the warranty ends. 60k. Then Nissan wants 7000 dollars for a new engine. It is happening to everyone all over the country. Do your research folks. We have already gotten a lawyer and are having to go a big legal mess to get Nissan to stand behind their flawed design and product.
None. The door handles are at the top of the back doors and that gets Old quick. Theres absolutely no room in this tiny box of a car. And you would think the mpg would be good but its horrible! theres no way the mpg on the sticker is accurate. Its so far off the real mpg that it should be false advertising. This cars timing belt broke at 63k miles and Nissan said the engine blew up at that point. 7 thousand dollars they want. And the car isnt worth 7 more thousand dollars. Its so upside down when you leave the dealership as it is. What a mess.
Make an engine that doesnt blow up at 63k miles. Or build a stronger timing belt I guess?
We literally just experienced the same thing this afternoon. While nissan hasn't officially said its the timing belt and engine but stated that they are thinking that is the issue and will confirm it tomorrow. We have accumulated more mileage however 110 thousand but we have been reading what others described and tinging sound and that when reported to Nissan were told everything was ok. If you can direct us to any articles or have any more details it would be greatly appreciated.
Would that not be considered part of the power train warranty?
I just pulled up the 2011 Power Train Warranty and it shows the timing chain is covered for 60 months or 100,000 km.
So I think you're okay.
If there is "no room in this tiny box of a car", then why did you buy it?
Did you sit in it or test drive it?
Did it get smaller over time?
I too have a 2011 Nissan Juke w/ 78k miles on it.
We've had the same trouble.
The timing belt "jumped time" and we now need a new engine on a car we still owe 10k on.
Nissan is not standing behind their product.
This is the second Nissan we've had w/ engine failure.
We also had an engine fail in a 2004 Altima at around 60k miles.
We've had 4 Nissan's in our lifetime.
Last 2 have been junk.
It appears quality is declining.
I will never buy another Nissan.
