Honda Pilot Touring is a home run

It’s only a Honda family hauler, but an exceptional one. I have had several hondas over the years. That said, this is the only one where I have been stopped twice at gas stations by random people who have said something to the effect of “wow that’s a nice car.” And it is. No drama, everything works like it should. The Bose stereo is actually really nice, not just for a Honda. Gray … leather seating gives a luxury feel inside. And it drives like it should. That is, like a car that happens to have three rows and effective awd. Honda has made what could be another generic family hauler into something that feels special to own while keeping all of the practicality that most folks buy Honda’s for. Hopeful that the first few thousand miles continue to match my prior Honda experiences of needing not much more then oil, brakes and tires to 120,000 miles before the next one. Getting 20 mpg as a “spirited”’driver - to extent that applies to a three row suv. Driver aids are intuitive and non- obtrusive and, critically, can be shut off with a few clicks. Only complaint is that the infotainment shuts off with the ignition, dropping calls back to the phone and making it a chore to listen to music while kitting up for activities. Hopefully fixed with a software update.
