I have a 1999 Chevy Lumina with over 200,000 miles. It will cut off while I am driving. The word VOLTS and picture of oil can will light up. I note that the messages above are old. I have a 1999 Lumina and Have- HAD- a similar problem. My neighbor, a mobile mechanic came to me when I was trouble shooting the problem. My problem also included blowing a fuse and a wire getting very hot. When the problem occured I would start the car with a screwdriver at the starter. After reading over 100 letters I feel I have to tell you all about the differences in Canada. Perhaps the differences remain the same for some of the Lumina Models. I understand that most Luminas were made in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The 1999 model year was the last to be sold in Canada, however for the US market, Oshawa still made the 2000 Lumina base model for fleet cars. I hear ... Read More

The Chevy dealer I visited to test drive the New Impala..sent me the new Chevy brouchure...I was surprised that the Lumina wasn't even included in the list of what Chevy has to offer..not even a mention of the 2000 model..I guess they don't want to have to reprint the new brouchure again after 1999,minus the Lumina...which I think is a good looking car.
