HOUSTON — The 2015 Ford F-150, F-Series Super Duty and Expedition King Ranch models debuted on Tuesday at the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The special models honor the historic King Ranch in Texas, an iconic symbol of the American West and a contemporary example of ecotourism. Car shoppers should pay special attention to the batch of King Ranch photos released on Tuesday by Ford. They were taken by Texas State Photographer Wyman Meinzer and go beyond the usual studio shots issued by automakers.

The high-end models arrive at dealerships later this year.

Pricing will be released at a later date, said William Mattiace, a Ford spokesman.

The King Ranch models feature unique interior and exterior trim, more standard equipment and special wheels.

The new King Ranch exterior colors for 2015 are Caribou, Bronze Fire, Guard and Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat. Caribou will be offered as a monotone; the other colors will have Caribou as an accent color.

All King Ranch vehicles now come with either a monotone or two-two look. Premium Mesa Brown is the new interior leather. It is only available on King Ranch editions.

The 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch competes with top-of-the-line versions of the 2014 Ram 1500, including the Lone Star, Big Horn, Laramie and Laramie Longhorn editions.

The 2015 Ford Expedition King Ranch competes with the 2014 Nissan Armada Platinum edition and the fully loaded 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser.

The 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty King Ranch competes with the fully loaded 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD and Ram HD.

Edmunds says: If cowboys and wide-open spaces set your heart racing, the Dearborn automaker has a trio of King Ranch vehicles just for you. But get ready for a big price tag.
