NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The redesigned and renamed 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan starts at $37,605, including a $905 destination charge, reflecting a $650 price decrease over the outgoing 2013 Infiniti G37 Journey sedan.

The new 2014 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid starts at $44,855, including shipping.

The top-of-the-line 2014 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid AWD starts at $49,055, including shipping. The 2013 Infiniti G37 Journey sedan starts at $38,255, including a $905 destination charge.

The Q50 goes on sale in early July. The Q50 replaces the G-series sedan and Q60 replaces the G-series coupe and convertible under Infiniti's new naming system.

A moonroof package adds another $1,000 to the bottom line of the 2014 Infiniti Q50, while a navigation package adds $1,400. A deluxe technology package adds $5,000, while 19-inch bright finish wheels add $1,900.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 is more expensive than two of its chief rivals, the 2013 Acura TL and 2013 BMW 3 Series. The 2013 Acura TL starts at $36,800, including an $895 destination charge. The Q50 is offered in 3.7-liter V6 and 3.5-liter Hybrid models. The EPA has not posted official fuel economy numbers on the 2014 Q50. Infiniti says the Q50 Hybrid is expected to return 36 mpg on the highway.

Edmunds says: There's a lot riding on the success of the 2014 Infiniti Q50 as it replaces a car that is responsible for nearly all of Infiniti car sales here.

Edmunds, sometimes I wonder where you get your data? MSRP on the Q50 according to KBB and Cars.com is $36,450, and the Q50h is $43,700. Either way, I look forward to an extended test drive.

Great looking car but this has to be the stupidest naming strategy of all time. Infiniti is throwing out all the brand recognition earned with the excellent G series for an illogical and silly new naming strategy. Dumb.

They should be comparing the price of the base 335i to the Q50, not the 320i which has a way punier engine (180hp). The comparable BMW is definitely more expensive ($43,150). The phrasing of this article is patently misleading at worst or downright sloppy reporting at best. The Q50 remains by far a much better value than the Bimmer. I would certainly pay only 3k more for Infiniti's much better proposition.

when will we see a review of this car? Some cars get reviewed a year before they are introduced. This car is coming in a couple of months and...silence.

@jbeckr- Good question. The Q50 is already on sale at Glendale Infiniti, Glendale, CA and Metro Infiniti in Los Angeles, and yet as you stated an in depth review is not posted anywhere.
