Bought a New XC 90 for my Wife because I wanted her in one of the Safest cars on the road. We really liked the car at first, was hoping it would last at least 10 years? Volvo offered oil changes every 10K miles, 4 oil changes given, but I felt it was too long for oil changes, so I decided to change oil myself when the car had 6K miles. First, I made sure that I could get the oil level on the radio screen, I knew something was wrong when I only had one bar left on the scale, then, when I changed the oil, I was missing almost 2 quarts of oil for a 5 quart engine. I was not happy with the car already. The next month, we had " Volvo on call, serviced required" on the dash. Well, I already reset the maintenance light with the oil change, so I took it to the Dealer the next morning, they told me I need to make an appointment, their about 10 days to 2 weeks before they could even look at the car, Really! I asked them if the car had stopped and was told in, could they look at it then? They said still 2 weeks! We only have 1 car. Then, the Sales people said that several customers said they have the same thing on their dash and the Dealer is trying to figure it out? On the way home from the Volvo Dealer, we passed a Hyundai Dealer, and we traded in the Volvo for the Hyundai Palisade, much better SUV. Of course, Volvo's have a Terrible resale value, I knew that when I bought it, also, Geely, the Chinese, owns Volvo, I knew that when I bought the POS. Next day, drove my New Palisade to Volvo dealer to return my Volvo oil filters for refund, I told them about the 2 quarts missing when I did the oil change, and a Mechanic pulled me aside and said that Volvo has BIG PROBLEMS! They are now rebuilding 2016, 2017, 2018 models right now if the owners have maintenance warranties, and he said that mine would have been tag for a rebuilt job on it's First oil change. Pathetic at best, Do Not Buy!

Overall a very good vehicle except for the Pirelli tires. This is the 2nd vehicle I've owned that came with this brand stock and they have NOT lasted. Need to replace all four at 25K miles. There are better tires that cost less and last longer. These are junk.

New 2023 XC90 Hybrid

R. Phillips, 11/28/2022
2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge T8 Plus Dark 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

Took delivery 3 weeks ago after owning the 2016 XC90. Love the new hybrid. Much quieter and smoother ride than my 2016 and I have it without air suspension. Love using the Pure electric mode. Have not used any gas in the entire three weeks of ownership in my day to day 10 mile round trip work commute. Love the new Google interface of the infotainment system. Much needed improvement over the old system. Much easier to use overall with easy access to temperature controls and much improved navigation system using Google Maps. So far I love it. Plug-in hybrid and changes for 2023 make it quite an improvement with much appreciated differences compared to my previous 2016 XC90.

2023 Volvo XC90 B6 Ultimate Bright 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Twincharger gas/electric mild hybrid 8A)

I've had my '23 XC90 Ultimate just over a month and am extremely disappointed. The blind spot monitor doesn't light when it should. It also gets stuck on and doesn't go off. There is an annoying squeaky noise when the brake pedal is released. Service has lubricated and checked the pedal but it did not fix the noise. XM allows you to replay about 15 min. of their stations; however, Volvo is not set up with "Replay". Very aggravating if you turn to a station and want to replay to catch the conversation they were having. But the most concerning thing is the amount of force it takes to stop the hatch when it's coming down. It doesn't stop when it touches an object, it continues until it's pushed the object to the floor then reverses. Very dangerous. I've owned Suburbans, Toyotas, and Jeeps. None of them have had issues like this Volvo. One month in, I hate to think of what might be going on with it a year from now.

I have owned a 2022 Volvo XC90 T6 Inscription for over one year. Not a single problem, extremely reliable. No warranty problems, Great highway cruiser, easy 27 mpg. Very solid and everything works great. Need some time to understand the all the controls, but once everything is set, not much else to do. All the passive safty features are great and wok very well, especially the auto-cruise control features. Quiet, comfortable and a joy to drive!
