Used 2004 Volvo XC90 Consumer Reviews
Hard to find a better SUV
I went to the Frankfurt Auto Show in late September after purchasing my Volvo in the beginning of August. I couldn't find a vehicle I liked better. Designed with safety in mind, this SUV drives like a car, has plenty of room, is very comfortable and seats 7 when you need to. This vehicle is very well thought out. Get the 2.5T vs. the T6: Better transmission(5 vs. 4-speed), better fuel economy, and faster 0-60. The T6 is for those who want the top model but do not do their homework.
Pricey But Nice
We really struggled chooosing between this and the MDX. We ended up choosing the XC90 primarliy because it is more luxurious. It is also quieter, has a better ride and handling is superior. On the down side, the MDX is quicker and for about $4,000 less you navigation and RES with a rearview camera! In the final analysis we chose the XC90 because it's more prestigious, refined and much more fun to drive.

A great vehicle
I have owned many different makes of cars including Jeep, Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. The XC-90,however, is the most comfortable to drive. It is roomy inside and has overall terrific handling. I have owned Lexus RX300'S,a Mercedes ML320 and other SUV's. Although the other SUV's were good, the XC-90 is far superior.
Volvo for life? Not a long one.
This car looks great, seats 7 semi- comfortably, is great in the snow, and will spend as much time in the shop as on the road. O2 sensors out at 50k. Spark plugs needed replaced at 50k. Transmission needed replaced at 61k. Volvo service won't stand behind the car. I was told directly that "Volvo for life" is "Just a slogan." Don't let the pretty looks and solid reputation fool you. The newer Volvos are trouble. Expensive trouble at that.
excellent
excellent vehicle. Probably one of the best sports utility vehicles you can buy at this time.
