Keeping my 2012 Volvo S-60
Can't find another vehicle more comfortable or safe. This is my second Volvo and I will no doubt buy one more, but for now.... I am keeping this one which I purchased new in 2011. I recently went shopping looking for an SUV... but ended up right back at my Volvo dealership. With only 35,000K on this sedan, I am as happy today (5 years) as I was the day I purchased it!

New Volvo fan
I never knew much of Volvo's before I desperately needed a sporty luxury car and started looking in earnest. I was advised to look at the S60, but wasn't real interested. Well, out of respect, I did take a look. Indeed, I sat in its sumptuous leather seats then put the car through the paces. I was blown away. How had I never taken a close look at this car before now? Maybe the Volvo reputation for safety wasn't enough to catch my eye? Hmm. Whatever the case, I could not be more thrilled with my S60 T5. Luxurious, fun, fast, economical, and a badge that commands respect. I am now a Volvo fan. A BIG one. Absolutely love this car. ***UPDATE*** I now have 92,000 trouble-free miles on my S60 and I am pleased beyond words. It has exceeded my expectations in every way. I DO wish that mine had navigation and a back-up camera, but I bought it knowing that it didn't. Most surprising has been it's high speed performance. I travel often across the sparse and remote Alligator Alley. I have been known to open it up going across and holding speeds near 120 MPH. The S60 is smooth and confidence-inspiring at those speeds. Kudos to the Volvo engineers who designed it. Very well done. *** UPDATE II *** The car now has 132,000 trouble free miles on it. Beyond regular maintenance (always done on time), the only thing that I have done is change tires, battery, engine mounts and the wiper blades on it. That is supreme reliability. Very, very happy with my S60 T5! ***UPDATE III*** The car has 142,000 miles on the odometer and it has been virtually trouble free. Had to have the dealer re-flash the transmission programming because shifting started to become a little rough. Since they reset the shift points it has been smooth as silk. I could not be more pleased with how strong, well engineered, well built, and reliable our 2012 Volvo S60 has been. Great investment. Very happy with the purchase and would most definitely do it again.

Burns Oil Like Crazy 34k miles
Don't. Purchased a used (but still under warranty) 2012 with 34K miles on it. It burns through 1.5 its oil every 1000 miles. My local Volvo dealer is giving me the run around and suggesting unnecessary repairs when we both know the engine is shot and it needs piston rings.

A "best buy" in it's class!
I test drove a lot of cars. I mean a LOT of cars. My husband thought I was crazy, as this became a weekly thing for me to go out and test drive something. After owning the first gen Lexus RX for 12 years, I felt like a kid in a candy store, with so many cool features to explore. Since I was planning to keep the ute for bad weather and hauling stuff, I finally narrowed down my search to sporty 4 door cars. Almost bought a Volt. Then I almost bought a new 3 series. And then I went all the way back to one of the very first cars I tested, in January 2011. I wound up with a gorgeous sapphire black S60-T5. it's fantastic! UPDATE: 10 years with my awesome little Swede! I’ve owned my Volvo S60 for 10 years. Loved every minute. EXCEPT the minutes waiting for a tow truck on the side of I-95 when my tire was ripped up by a hunk of concrete on the road. No spare tire is a bummer. But otherwise I ADORE this car. When it was tested against other sedans (when it first came out), only the 3 series beat it out, but not by much. I tested a 3 series, and found it too small. The S60 has been a perfect size for everything. And the fact that the back seats fold down add to the flexibility and hauling capacity. NOT ONE ISSUE with this car, ever! couple minor recalls, but it’s been solid. Easy to drive, easy to operate, simple straight-forward controls, fabulous comfortable seats, and…it’s FUN to drive. Wish they’d re-issue this car. I’d buy another in a heartbeat!
