Best car I've ever owned

I think the best way to start this review is with the famous saying *results may vary. I have owned my car for the past 3 years and put over 30k miles on it. In all the time I have owned this car I have only been to the dealer a few times and only for regular maintenance and recalls. I have yet to have to pay a dime out of pocket fixing it. I have also never had my check engine light come on. There are lemons out there but they are usually not hard to spot, just check the Carfax for excessive dealer visits. The car is incredibly comfortable ride and handling are also superb. If you do your research right and check maintenance records, this car is insane value for the money. Just be careful.

I have had the car for just over a week and loving every minute of it. I opted for the sport package and can't imagine it any other way. It has been quite a head-turner with lowered ride height and included 18" rims. It handles like a dream with lot's of power. So far great it has been getting great gas mileage, 26 - 29 mpg. The manual transmission was a must for me and I couldn't be happier with it. It is a smooth shifter through all 6 gears and accelerates with ease.

Like Getting Your Car Repaired?

I bought this car thinking it would be an affordable reliable luxury sedan. The interior and exterior styling is something you would see in more expensive cars, for less. But what we have encountered is endless problems with the electronic systems and poor customer service from the manufacturers and dealers. The car has been in the shop three times for repairs in less then four months with so far nine days and counting loss of use. With this last incident, the car had to actually be towed to the dealership for service. If you want a reliable quality vehicle-keep shopping!

LEMON!

Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned car with 36k miles and have had nothing but problems from the get go! I've brought my car in at least 7 times (3 of them occurring within the first 3 months) and I haven't even owned it for a year! The warranty has covered everything so far, but having to take it into the dealer every other month is such a pain; especially since they're not open on the weekends. It seems like as soon as one thing is fixed another breaks, not to mention the endless part recalls. The most recent issue is excessive oil consumption (adding 3 quarts in between 5k oil changes) and will have to submit a claim to VW to have it fixed. Ridiculous! Pretty car, but regret buying it!

I have owned the car for 2.5 months and overall, I'm very satisfied. I also considered the Acura TL and Infiniti G35. Good blend of performance, fuel economy, and price for equipped features. The ride is firm, but not harsh. The interior is laid out nicely and is very comfortable. Lots of well-thought-out little touches, like the sun shades that are integrated into the rear doors and rear window. Some minor annoynances are the throttle lag, the satellite radio didn't work (after activating the service), the auto unlock sometimes doesn't work, and the car will creep forward with 'Hold' active. There is also an annoying airflow/buffeting issue with sunroof open when speed is 35-45 mph.
