Used 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan Consumer Reviews
Fun to drive but Thirsty
The car is really fast and handles really well. The only "negative" thing I got to say is that it's too thirsty (and it's Premium also). I get about 450km per full tank driving normal, and 350 km per tank driving fast, but I still LOVE it!!!
Don't Buy the Navigation System
My 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 is what I expected except for the navigation system. The navagation system is inferior to others on the market. As an $1800.00 option it doesn't offer much. It provides very little road detail (like road names). In most areas roads don't even appear on the screen. I have a GARMIN IQue 3600 (a $600.00 portable unit) that can run circles around the VW unit for reliability and accuracy. If your going to spend an additional $1800.00 on your new VW get $1200.00 worth of accessories and spend the other $600.00 on a GARMIN IQue 3600. VW did replace the system. The new one is no better than the old. Dealer says "that's as good as they get." Also, my car's engine is noisy when started. It sounds like it needs oil.

Excellent Daily Driver
My 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 is a great daily driver. It has lots of features like the satellite radio, navigation, etc. The leather is improved bigtime as well as interior design, with a quality you only see in higher priced luxury cars. The handling has improved 110% from the previous model. The only quark is to see more of the traditional "German" design to come back. Other than that its a great car!
great car
I have had my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 for five months and have put about 10,000 miles on it. I have had absolutely no problems. I am getting about 32 mpg on the highway. I would recommend this car to anyone.
Totally Suprised!
I traded in my Nissan 350Z for a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. It's coming closer to winter now, and I didn't feel like driving the Z in the snow again. I got a great deal on my trade, new car, financing, and a great dealership. I thought that I would be content with the GLI vs. the Z, but boy was I suprised. I actually have MORE fun driving the GLI than the Z. It's smoother, more comfortable, better handling, and gets way better gas mileage. All of that with a trunk and back seats too!
