Used 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan Consumer Reviews
Totally Satisfied
The Jetta is a great car. I have had no problems whatsoever other than 2 small cosmetic issues covered under warranty. This has been a fantastic car and I am planning on buying another. For the money it can't be beat. For those of you that shop on spec sheet comparisons alone you are really missing out.
2006 Jetta GLI 2.0 L/200hp/turbo
Just purchased an '06 Jetta, red with charcol interior. I looked at Toyota, Honda, Nissan. For driveability and price it was a tough decision. No barganing on the Honda Accord Hybrid, all quotes were $30,000. The Nissan Altima looked pretty good but the mileage was not impressive and the price a little higher for the same features. Toyota had nothing to interest me. Drove the Jetta, excellent road handling, good acceleration, comfortable, manual transmisson and clutch very smooth. Gets 26/34, uses premium though, for this engine (2.0L turbo/200hp). Overall impression; excellent fit and finish, good comfort features, sporty, firm ride but not stiff, very quiet interior, premium sound system.

Honeymoon period gone?
Pls. Don't get me wrong. I still love my gli 'o6. Awesome car, lots of fun to ride and drive. This is the best car I've driven for its price. But they say you cannot have everything. Last a/c broke down. I was disappointed but not panicking. Thank god I still have warranty on it. Family motors of Bakersfield was awesome. You guys are the best. They help me out from start 'till a/c was working again. I was back on the road before sunset. Moral lesson= i will try to get extended warranty.
Well-Crafted GLI
I picked my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta GLI up 2 days ago. It is equipped with Package 2 and is Platinum with a gray leather interior. It looks very Audi-esque. I could not be more pleased with the dealer experience, they did not play any games. the GLI is a totally different driving experience from the standard Jetta, very tight, crisp and responsive. It is definately a driver's car. I agonized over choosing between this and an Audi A3. With my trade allowance and discounts, there was a $3,000 difference in price. After owning three Audis and four VWs without any major problems and always receiving great customer care, I will remain a loyal customer. The intangible feel of a German designed car cannot be matched. If you are shopping in the $25,000 price range, this is a very worthy contender. In my humble opinion, this is probably the best VW built yet.
Get in the Jetta
I bought my '06 Jetta in January of 2006 and have had only one problem with it. Early on, the wiring harness went out, but luckily, it was covered under the warranty. Other than that, NOTHING has gone wrong (of course, now that I own it, I may have jinxed myself). It loves ice and snow, stops on a dime, and handles speeds up to 105 without vibration. Love it. Everyone should get one!
