1997 K2 Golf
Excellent Mechanically, have had one problem; a power steering hose.
'97 VW Golf GTI
If you are looking for a fun, comfortable (for 2 people), cool, and somewhat sporty car, a GTI is it. Having a VR6 makes this even more of an enjoyable experience. I am behind my VeeDub 100%! I've had it for about 100,000 miles and plan on having it for another 100,000! Good luck in your car buying!
Rusty, unreliable and unimpressive fuel mileage
Bought this piece of junk around 6 months ago, I’ve replaced the throttle body gasket, fuel pump, alternator belt and the entire ignition system. This car averages like 19.8mpg, can barely squeak out 500km in this thing. Classic VW airbag light has been stuck on since I purchased it, hatch won’t open from the back so I have to literally open it from the glove box, once my left blinker burnt out, i found out that somewhere in my car I have a live circuit and now I cannot even have my left and right blinker without having an open circuit kill my battery. Thankfully whoever owned this thing last stored it in his garage because if he didn’t the only thing left would be the roof

Reliable, Sporty, and Fun!
I purcahsed this car back in December of 1996 and it has been so reliable! I currently have 65k miles and NEVER had a problem with the vehicle. I've cared for it with normal maintenance but nothing beyond that. Its scrappy around town and handles like a true german car. No complaints (knock on wood). I highly suggest this car!
