Dead starter battery

Love my new Venza EXCEPT have had to jump start TWICE after purchasing due to the starter battery not having enough power to start the car. I use(d) this car to run errands. The 12volt starter battery apparently needs you to drive more than one mile in order to recharge. Have had it into the dealership twice, they recommended a trickle charge, which I am doing. Bottom line is I am … afraid to use this car for multiple, short trips. I have lost confidence in its ability to start. I think it’s ridiculous that I have the car on a trickle charger after running errands.
