2023 Subaru Forester
After some research I decided on the 2023 Forester Premium with most of the bells and whistles. My initial impressions after about 350 miles:
1. I would not characterize the SUV as “gutless” which is an exaggeration. What do you want a 455 hemi in it that gets 5 mpg? The car has enough power for most instances and even feels peppy in most city driving. In highway driving its again … plenty of power for me at least.
2. The car is pretty quiet and comfortable for a tall SUV. It rides smoothly and handles good. Theres no objectionable wind noise in my view.
3. The steering could feel more connected to the road but not bad enough for me to not purchase it.
4. It has plenty of cargo room. I’m a drummer so it carries all my drums and gear with ease.
5. Its still breaking in so my gas mileage may i crease a bit but I’ve been averaging 26.5 in city driving. I have not driven it a considerable distance on the highway yet.
6. The controls and entertainment layout is what my old fashioned self likes. Knobs , dials and a small screen, nothing too large. I do wish it had a slightly bigger space to put my phone. I will have to figure a way to mount my phone.
7. I’m still learning about all the safety features. I did turn off LKA and auto start/stop. Auto start/stop defaults to on position when you shut off the car and restart it. Its not bad once on though, I just prefer to turn it off.
8. Finally want to thank Tameron Subaru for a great buying experience and a fair price.
