10,000 Mile Update: After 7 months/10,000 miles, still happy with the purchase. The MPG has ranged between 41-45 mpg in suburban driving and 35-39 mpg on the Interstate measured at the pump. After living with the Venza for 7 months, IMO, it is best suited for singles, couples without children, or families of four or less without small children. Cargo is fine for our purposes but if we had small children with strollers and other bulky items I would go with the Sienna for increased cargo capacity. It's efficient in city/suburban driving with a good view of the road. The Venza excels on road trips. It’s quite, the ride is composed, the driver's seat is comfortable, there is plenty power, excellent mpg, it has radar cruise control with lane keeping assist, and it's heavy and aerodynamic enough not to get pushed around in the wind. The result is you do not become as fatigued on long drives. The ultimate road trip vehicle! Cons: Cargo - fine for groceries, ect, but not enough for bulky items without the rear seats down. Also, very large people over 6 2' may find head room limited. Anyone 6 2' and under should be fine. Original Review: After giving my 2016 Prius to a family member, I needed a new ride. The Prius was an excellent car but I wanted a change. The Venza has many attributes that make the Prius great; made in Japan reliability, efficient hybrid power train (44 mpg in suburban FL driving/37 on the interstate), and unique Japanese styling. The Venza a/k/a Harrier, like the Prius, is a Japanese market car. The Japanese styling aesthetic appeals to my taste so couldn’t be happier with the look of the car. The Venza is quick ( 0 to 60 in 7.6 seconds), quiet and a great highway cruiser. It’s relatively roomy but easy to handle. The LE trim has buttons and knobs so it avoids the complaint of no knobs on the higher trims. The LE’s 18 inch wheels also make for better ride. Very happy with the purchase. It’s like an updated early 2000s Lexus RX. The Venza is perfect for someone looking for practical, reliable, AWD transportation with some luxury elements.

Okay, I couldn't resist the Spanish language title because of my Spanish lessons. But it does accurately capture how I feel about driving this car. Let's go! There is a lot to love about this vehicle so here goes: 1. The ride: This car drives like a luxury vehicle. The interior cabin is quiet and very comfortable. I've had numerous back injuries over the past twenty years, and I can say w/o hesitation that this car is the MOST COMFORTABLE car I have ever driven. In my life! You can adjust the driver seat to the position that suits you best. You'll come to find driving this car is a breeze. Easy around town or the highway. The Tech: Toyota has been notorious as a laggard where car tech is concerned but I have to give them high marks for catching up to their competitors. The one area where they dropped the ball was wireless connectivity for Apple Carplay. You have to plug the phone into a USB port which is strange given the car has WiFI hotspot capability. Nonetheless, the technology works seamlessly once you're plugged in and it's easy to use the 8-inch screen. The Venza comes Alexa enabled and you can easily train the car to recognize your voice if you prefer to give commands in that manner. Otherwise, the button controls are fairly similar to Toyota vehicles from past years. Gas mileage: Given that we are in the midst of gas price hikes beyond what anyone could imagine, you'll be happy to know that so far, I'm getting about 50-60 miles per gallon. Yup, you read that right. Highway and city driving. Of course, I practice good driving habits and do not have a heavy foot so that makes a difference. Still, it was gratifying to know I only had to spend $19 to fill half a tank. The expert reviews on trunk capacity and back seat space are pretty accurate. This is not what I would characterize as a family SUV. Trunk space is limited so if you have kids, this isn't a great choice especially if you do family getaways. One last thing. Whether you buy this car or another Toyota, ignore the App Store reviews of the Toyota App. The app works as intended and has a lot of nice features (locking and unlocking as well as remote start). The people who left one-star reviews clearly do not know how to use a smartphone.

I have this car for about 2 months now and have driven more than 2000 miles, including a 800 mile road trip. Very comfortable car for long trips, and did not feel any fatigue even after 6 hour road trip. I have read reviews about road noise. I have not experienced it, and the noise I hear did not bother me at all. Have been getting between 40-50 mpg which is during summer. The adaptive cruise control and LTA make long drives very easy.

Exactly what it is supposed to be

Short term owner here. This car is everything it is billed to be. Comfortable, safe and (hopefully) reliable transportation. This car is packed with great tec and safety equipment. Interior is well though out with high quality materials used throughout. The car seamlessly transitions between the electric motor and gas engine. You hardly notice it which is excellent. The ride is smooth with decent sound deadening throughout. The stock tires are not great (Ecopias) and I have to thing a set of Michelins will enhance the ride even further. Is the car "fun" to drive? Not really. Does it drive incredibly well? Yes. Negatives are a terrible base stereo in the XLE, non power passenger seat (I feel like it is too high) and agressive seat bolstering may be too much for larger framed people. The seats are very comfortable however. The gas mileage is as promised and the car can run on electric only in stop and go or slow city driving. This car is a sleeper and unfortunately hard to buy right now due to limited supply.

* Now that I have my 2022 Venza Limited w/ Advanced Tech Package & Star Gaze Roof, I like both options very much!!! As a previous premium mid-size SUV owner, changed to new Venza Limited because of established hybrid reliability, excellent ride quality, silky smooth drivetrain/hybrid system, & outstanding features/options. * Took brief while to adjust to Limited's capacitive touch media system controls, but afterwards proved to be very responsive and convenient, especially with use of steering column controls. Also, I use the Bluetooth connection to play my YouTube Music libraries/artists. I found I like the multimedia Home command with its 3 default windows, which are customizable. * After getting use to entering/exiting front passenger side, passenger seat's comfort is well above average 😃.

'We have owned out 2022 xle now for seven mo. and so far, it has been all that I expected. I have 8000 miles on it and the MPG keeps getting better. I do drive in ECO mode all the time with no lack of power in my opinion. Navigation would have been nice at this price level but not worth the extra $2000. I installed a Garmon that does all that for me and take it out when we are not traveling. We just returned from a 2000-mile trip and MPG was 46 even at 75 to 80 MPH at times. The ride and handling was more than expected. As for disappointments no power for the passenger side seating and the OEM tires {in the winter} is an issue. I will defiantly have to replace them this winter season with all-weather tires. We live in Pa and snow does not cope well with the summer tires. That said in dry road conditions they are just fine, no problem there. I am hoping the battery will last as advertised. Verry Happy and would purchase it again. UPDATE: After a lot of thought and a long search I porched a 2022 Venza XLE. This is my first hybrid but my 5th Toyota. I am very pleased with the quality of the car as well as the MPG, ride , quietness, and handling of the car. The only change I am making is new tires. Winter is about to arrive, and the OEM Bridgestone tires are not ample for western Pa snow. In the summer the tires performed very well but no traction in snow season. The add on for connection to alerts of $8 per mo., after one year is very disappointing and should not be a charge on a $38,000 car. I am also not a fan of a 10,000-mile oil change. All that said the car is the nicest one I have ever owned and plan to keep it for the remainder of my life. Well done, Toyota. Don D

I have had Toyota cars for years and never been more satisfied. What is the problem with the heat? When I am in neutral the heat blows cold air even set on high 85. I am dissatisfied with this feature. It is unsafe in New England to not be able to depend on heat. Just learned when car is stationary 10 minutes heat turns offGREAT CAR

I appreciate the smooth ride, but have serious concerns about the real-world mileage and the initial quality. First saw the dealer after detecting two sources of rattle in the cabin. Not a problem. Then a piece of paint came off on the edge of the hood lid. Not a huge problem either, but still irritating. Then the rear-view camera began disconnecting. That's a real problem, especially when backing up in a dark alley but they are still struggling with it at the dealership. Finally, the mileage. I have been making 32 mpg give or take, and I'm not exactly a NASCAR driver. And the deteriorating eyesight isn't making it any brighter. That's better than most of the comparable gasoline powered vehicles, but it's nowhere near the 40 mpg advertised. Kind of disappointed at this juncture.

My first Venza was a 2011. Loved it! My second Venza was a 2015. Also loved it. In fact, it saved my life and limbs during a total crash in 2016. My 3rd one is the 2022 XLE AWD hybrid which I purchased in December 2022. I have had it for 1 full year. It's ok, but just ok. I love the safety features, and the MPG is decent. I love the slightly cushioned touch points on the doors. Most of all, I absolutely loved my salesperson. Here's what changed about the vehicle and why I do not love it: poor head room is my #1 gripe. I frequently hit my head on the driver's side handle above the door. If I have my sunglasses and eyeglasses on the visor I often hit my head on it as well. My husband likes the car but does not desire to drive it because of this one problem. Plus I have to cock my head to the side a lot just to get in the vehicle, or else I will hit my head against the door frame. Been there done that way too many times. The height of the driver side window is so low that I can't comfortably do transactions at an ATM from the car, and I'm only 5'4". Yes, I can telescope my seat up and down, but why do I need to do that when I haven't needed to do it any other model, or any other vehicle for that matter? This Venza does not offer that extended leg room like normal vehicles. My husband finds this a bit uncomfortable because the seats do not glide back far enough as with most other vehicles, and he's only 5"11. Weird, right? Also, I can't see far down the road at night with those regular headlights as I did with the previous Venzas. Are they slightly angled downward? Again, weird. I ALWAYS have to use high beams just to see an appropriate distance down the road, which should be a normal headlight functionality. So odd. Things do not fit under the seat as easily anymore. That space has narrowed quite as bit. Also the space between the seat and console is extremely narrow. If I drop something between the seats, it's difficult or next to impossible to access or clean that area. The seating is comfortable but crampy to the point where it's sometimes difficult to get my hand between the seat and the door to access the seat controls on driver side. If I have a winter coat on, forget it. My arm doesn't fit at all, and I am not obese. I must open the door just to get access to seat controls. Is it me, or have CUVs/SUVs gotten smaller? It's a great ride but for me, Toyota lost points on these changes. There are several more points, but I leave this last one. I have the clear plastic coating on the front of the car and side mirrors. Cleaning the hood has made it easier. However, in less than a year, that clear plastic coating has warped on the side mirrors and needs to be smoothed out again. It's been just short of a hellish experience trying to get Toyota to figure out if that's covered under warranty. I swore I would be a Toyota fan for life, but I am falling out of love with the Venza, and I'm about to trade it. I love Toyota, and always will; however, this new and not so improved Venza makes me sad.

After 6 Months: Yawn.

The Venza really caught our eye on the lot. It had many posh features, including a dimmable glass roof, heads up display, heated and cooled seats, among many other things. I thought I could just get used to the infotainment system, which initially seemed a bit difficult. After a few months, I find the vague floaty ride to be boring. The panoramic roof, while lovely, the dimming feature seems a bit pointless after a few months. Most of all, I loathe the infotainment system. I just find very little logic to it. The worst part is that there are no physical buttons or dials. The car features a seemingly cool 360 camera that activates each time you come to a stop. The camera overtakes the entire screen and cancels any and all functions that the driver or passenger may have been navigating at the time. The majority of the time, the automatic camera is a lovely feature, but those times where it cancels whatever action you were navigating on the screen, it is nothing short of maddening. Is there a lot to like about the Venza? Sure. Is it mind-numbingly boring to drive? Most definitely.

Mechanically the Venza has been good so far. We have had no real problems there. It is a little bit loud with road noise and the storage inside could be done better. The mapping and infotainment system have been awful. No infotainment system is perfect but this one has completely soured me on Toyota. The android auto can be finicky about connecting even when hooked directly with a cable. The mapping software is hopelessly out dated. The rural maps are pathetic. The supposedly dynamic navigation(as Toyota calls it) is dynamically bad. Even with it going online to get updated road conditions it is inaccurate. The app doesn't offer services that other manufacturers do. It is slow and buggy. It doesn't recognize the VIN of our vehicles without calling customer service. Speaking of customer service, they have been as helpful as a rock and about as communicative. I can't see us purchasing another Toyota with this kind of aggravation from what is supposed to make things better.

Overall is good. While I already got the limited trim and passenger seat can be adjusted by button, but why I can't adjust the height of it? All my friends and family when they enter the sit the seat they all feel uncomfortable about the height there and their head almostly hit the roof lol. Secondly, the digital rear view camera. 5/10 times I have to maunally turn it off and turn it on or the screen won't working. I'm pretty mad about it because I just got it brand new for about only one month! And my sales told me that it is pretty common among all the venza owners because of the shortage of toyota production, the toyota rush to produce and handover the car to the customer, so it's just a small bug, while toyota canada made no response towards that... Me: wtf?? Last but not least, it's every time when I brake on the bumpy road I can always hear the nosie at the bottom. It sounds like my bottom was scratched by something I don't know and I can feel my brake lagging a little bit. Although I bring my car to the dealer, the mechanic there didn't find anything wrong about it.... So I decide to come to another toyota dealer again to check about it. Have to say 0/10

10k miles in, my biggest impression is that this is the loudest vehicle we’ve had since purchasing our 2012 Prius V. It is so loud, I no longer like to drive it at all. I also drive a Ford Maverick Lariat hybrid, which is much quieter, and, oddly, has more pick up than our trusty Venza. It’s bad enough that, although we love looks, styling, and comfort, we either need to invest in new tires, or sell the dang thing. No point in having a vehicle you can’t stand to drive.

Hybrid tech is a hoot. It has been two years now, still haven't cracked 10,000 miles. Toyota offers free scheduled maintenance up to 15,000 miles or two years. At the 5,000 mile point I was no where near 5,000 miles but would have liked an oil change. They refused to do it. Many suggest the wisdom of an oil change 1,000 miles on anew car. After some back and forth they changed the oil when the 10,000 mile check came do and I had less than the 10 and not quite 5,000 on the odometer. Doesn't Toyota reimburse the dealership to the cost of "free" services? It is a lease so next year they may get it back. It probably won't have 15,000 miles yet. They didn't change the oil at the 15,000 mile free maintenance in July. Their argument is it is wasteful to change 5,000 mile synthetic oil before 5,000. It is no skin off their teeth, I offered to pay for the oil. Are they reporting these maintenance cycles to Toyota as "completed"? The Senza middle line trim is a Lexus in disguise. Built in Japan (long boat ride to New York) it reeks of the cultural attention to details and quality. The driving I do often shows on the screen as averaging 50 mpg between electric and the 4 cylinder ice. Can't beat that. And on the interstate on ramp it scoots to 60 in less than 6 seconds. Speed limit on I81 is 70, just about everyone is going 75 to 80 so you can't meander. I just may keep it at lease end, and change oil on my schedule.

I have owned my 2022 Venza limited for 3 years now. I have had no problems with it at all. I get great fuel economy and it rides nice. The Venza is an attractive looking vehicle inside and out. My Venza also handles very well on snowy and slushy roads. The Venza also has many safety features as well.

I like the look of the Venza but my wife could hardly get in the car without help being it is too high and the car doesn’t have much pickup. Maybe the front passenger seat with power seat would be easier to get into.

The Toyota Venza is a great car. I have had no problems at all with this vehicle. It is Toyota quality all the way. I can't believe Toyota is dropping this car and replacing it with a name of Toyota Crown Signia. Keep the name and continue to make it under the name Venza.

When I purchased this car I had very little data on it. I was immediately impressed by it’s looks and performance. The gas mileage was better than the sticker indicated at 42 MPG during most the year and 37 in winter. It is comfortable car with many luxury features with adaptive cruise control, backup camera, automotive headlights , automatic breaking system and more. The engine has pickup. My only complaint is the truck has limited space to fit my e-bike in.
