After a 2 day rental and 220 miles, it does not get the job done. Too many unlabeled controls to try to run the various features. The layout of the controls is poor. I should not need to be dipping my head to see to use the controls on the steering column. The engine is under-powered and requires a heavy foot to get any power from it. The notched automatic transmission shifter is annoying. The only feature I liked was the cruise control with radar over-ride. The seats are hard and uncomfortable. I felt like I was driving a Corolla with a truck body.

This truck does not handle like a truck . It is a pleasure to drive on a winding road , it corners nice and flat . The truck also seems to be going slower than it is . Give a little gas to get on an interstate and you will be going 80-100mph if your not careful . The engine has 278 hp and it accelerates very rapidly. Keep it down to 70 mph and it will get 25 mph on the interstate . I have about 26,000 miles on it and have not had a single problem with it .

I have a TRD 4x4 Off Road for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. I also have a a 2019 TRD Pro 4Runner and love that as well. Toyota can be a little quirky on how and what they upgrade from year to year, but nobody builds an overall great vehicle that will last for years and countless miles. Nothing else will touch it's resale value either. There are many vehicles that are more flashy and have more gadgets that ultimately will be a problem and a huge drain on your budget. Toyota's mantra is evolution and not revolution, so they will never be the leader in putting new unproven technology into their vehicles. Just enjoy the quirks for the many years and miles that your vehicle will be with you.
