Used 1998 Toyota T100 Extended Cab Consumer Reviews
Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned
Bought it used 8 years ago, and I've driven it like I stole it ever since. Currently has 196,000 on the clock and I can list the repairs on one hand: new ignition lock cylinder at 120k, new ignition coil and wires at 190k. Less than $600 in repairs. I get about 21 mpg on my daily commute, running it like a scalded dog. The rep on these is golden. I've had several offers to buy mine from complete strangers. This one has made me a loyal Toyota customer for life, if not longer.
Great Truck
I've owned this truck going on 4 years now and it has been reliable and is a smooth ride. I have towed a 17' bass boat and also loaded a 10' row boat in the bed. It drives well and actually seems to drive better with a load in the bed. I have 105000 miles on it and was thinking of trading up, but I'm not sure if I would get a better truck even if it were a newer model. It's 12 years old and I have owned it for 4 years and only had to replace the front brake pads and a muffler and have a bolt re-threaded on the oxygen sensor. the muffler and brakes were both done in the past year. So basically 3 years with only oil changes on a 12 yr old truck.

I Love What U Do For Me!
My company purchased this truck for me in February of 1998. I have maintained the truck like clock work. It has never let me down. I tow trailers with equipment and materials without a problem. My truck now has 150,000 miles and is still running as strong as ever. I would deffinately recommend the T-100 to anyone who is considering purchasing a mid-size truck. I installed a Fabtec 3" lift kit, 31" tires and stiffer torsion bars. I ordered new rims with a larger backset to correct the sunken in wheel look. The gas milage suffered slightly however the truck looks as mean as ever.
tough as nails
1998 Toyota T100 4x4 SR 5...if all trucks were made like this buying a new one would be obsolete...absolutely a well made vehicle
One Super Truck
Bought my 1998 T100 SRS 4x4 5 speed new at the end of 1997. Only truck I've owned since then! Never needed another one. Super reliable, super dependable and pulls like nobody's business. You'd swear it was a diesel with the torque it has but it is gas, no kidding. Just hit 230,000 miles and runs like new. Outside of normal wear and tear items nothing else has been replaced. Uses absolutely no oil between changes. 1998 was the last year of the T-100 made in Japan and shipped to the U.S. As the gun enthusiast say, you'll have to pry this from my cold, dead hands (or maybe the wheels fall off) in which case I'd just rebuild and keep on trucking!
