Great Mid-Size Truck

I have 45,000 miles on a 98 ext. cab, auto, a/c.... I tested the back seat on the new Tundra and I, nor any of my family members could not fit in the back. The dealer said perhaps Toyota made a slit error in designing the Tundra back seat. The T100 is a very strong vehicle. Build quality is tops. Very comfortable and the engine will just blow you away with its power. I tow a 16' bass boat ... no problem. I also get 21 MPG on the highway , and 19 around town. It you're looking for a T100, I suggest you get a 97 or 98. These are hard to find because most owners are not interested in getting rid of wheels that require almost no maintenance.

Built proof, reliable, near perfect...I bought a '98 SR5 4x4 in 2002 with around 25k on it. I have driven it as my primary vehicle (commuter, highway, hunting and camping) for nearly 14 years. The truck has 155k on it now. I have done regular maintainance and a few minor repairs (small wiring issue at around 70k), nearly no issues. The motor lacks power, put it serves most purposes other than towing. I love this truck. If you find one with less than 150k, buy it. I can't wait to give it to my daughter and she is only 5. I know it will still be around.

Best Truck Ever

I have driven this truck hard, but maintained it all times. I have done all of the work, save for the timing belt, leaving this truck out of the shop from breakdowns for its entire life. I have 105,000 miles on it and and it still runs like brand new, and of course looks brand new. This, so far, has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and still love it,...it is red. I have put Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs and K&N air filter and it has given the truck a slight better response and power. I must have gotten a good one, because it can keep up or beat a lot of V8's, I sure it is because of the lighter truck. Griff

So I bought this truck for going to dump and beach on cape cod. It had 98,000 miles . 2 owners All original body etc. I now have a whopping 105,000 miles on ten years later and park it in a garage all winter with a trickle charge. In ten years I have done regular oil changes, replaced two tires and one battery. Thats it. Thing always starts are goes in the spring. Paint looks great. It is solid and fun to drive. Im teaching my kids to drive standard on it so we'll see if the clutch holds out. I don't see any reason I wouldn't have this truck for another 10 years.

This t100 has a nice look. Excellent paint. No rust. Shines and looks like new. Tight just like a new one. The first owner had all the dealer records.

Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned

Bought it used 8 years ago, and I've driven it like I stole it ever since. Currently has 196,000 on the clock and I can list the repairs on one hand: new ignition lock cylinder at 120k, new ignition coil and wires at 190k. Less than $600 in repairs. I get about 21 mpg on my daily commute, running it like a scalded dog. The rep on these is golden. I've had several offers to buy mine from complete strangers. This one has made me a loyal Toyota customer for life, if not longer.

I've owned this truck going on 4 years now and it has been reliable and is a smooth ride. I have towed a 17' bass boat and also loaded a 10' row boat in the bed. It drives well and actually seems to drive better with a load in the bed. I have 105000 miles on it and was thinking of trading up, but I'm not sure if I would get a better truck even if it were a newer model. It's 12 years old and I have owned it for 4 years and only had to replace the front brake pads and a muffler and have a bolt re-threaded on the oxygen sensor. the muffler and brakes were both done in the past year. So basically 3 years with only oil changes on a 12 yr old truck.

I Love What U Do For Me!

My company purchased this truck for me in February of 1998. I have maintained the truck like clock work. It has never let me down. I tow trailers with equipment and materials without a problem. My truck now has 150,000 miles and is still running as strong as ever. I would deffinately recommend the T-100 to anyone who is considering purchasing a mid-size truck. I installed a Fabtec 3" lift kit, 31" tires and stiffer torsion bars. I ordered new rims with a larger backset to correct the sunken in wheel look. The gas milage suffered slightly however the truck looks as mean as ever.

Bought my 1998 T100 SRS 4x4 5 speed new at the end of 1997. Only truck I've owned since then! Never needed another one. Super reliable, super dependable and pulls like nobody's business. You'd swear it was a diesel with the torque it has but it is gas, no kidding. Just hit 230,000 miles and runs like new. Outside of normal wear and tear items nothing else has been replaced. Uses absolutely no oil between changes. 1998 was the last year of the T-100 made in Japan and shipped to the U.S. As the gun enthusiast say, you'll have to pry this from my cold, dead hands (or maybe the wheels fall off) in which case I'd just rebuild and keep on trucking!
