Love the Sienna Best carI have ever owned

I bought the Sienna with 50000 miles. It now has 150000 and both my wife and I LOVE it. I am a car connoisseur and have owed a lot of vehicles in my 63 years. This is the best car I have ever owned. I did not know the timing belt needing replacement at 100,000 mile and found out when the car had 140,000miles but got it replaced at the local Toyota dealer and also found the radiator was starting to leak so had my local mechanic fix that. Other then that, it has been brakes, tires and oil changes. The digital read out says we get an average of 23mpg. The car rides nice, and has a great A/C. Love the independent front and rear heat a/c controls. & adults are not a problem. Only issues are the spare tire location (difficult to remove and replace), the middles seats are removable but very hard to get to snap back in, and the driver's door hold back broke. Not bad at all for a 12 year old car with 150,000 miles.

Beware of AWD

2005 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited 7-Passenger AWD 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)

Purchased the 2005 XLE Limited in Oct 2004. Ordered it fully loaded (dvd-Nav- etc) with 2 wheel drive. Was delivered as AWD and dealer convinced me it would be no problem. Shame on me !!! After 28000 mile's it has averaged 18.3 MPG overall (mostly highway), has had one set of new tires and already show's 40% wear on second set !! At $1156 per set, this figures out to approx $100 per Mo. for tires alone !!! Wanna buy one--- "Have I got a deal for you" !!!

Great Family Hauler

My wife and I recently came to the conclusion that with three kids, the purchase of a minivan was inevitable and that we were "uncool" a long time ago anyway. We bought the '05 Sienna LE AWD and love it. This is our third Toyota and we remain convinced that these are the best engineered cars on the road. Rock solid build quality, quality ride and well thought out nooks and crannies for storage make this a great vehicle. The Sienna w/ AWD provides a nice alternative to the Landcruiser (SUV) we had as the previous family hauler. We got a $2300 discount and a great deal on our trade in as well. My only complaint - 17 mpg driving around town, better the SUV mileage, but we expected 20+ mpg.

Lexus build, Lexus ride

Got 5,000+ miles on my Sienna and have got absolutely no complaints... Toyota folks really did their homework on this one. I test drove the Odyssey for a week before test driving the Sienna, the Sienna proved to be a much smoother ride... much better fuel economy while not sacrificing power and performance. All-around quality is much more solid in the Sienna.... feels like a Lexus.

My first 2005 Sienna was completely reliable. Sure the cost of plugs installed is a little expensive but not huge and the thousands I have saved in repairs with this great car compensates that ten fold. All I have had to do in 165,000 miles is regular maintenance and after market cheap lift pistons for the rear door. Gave this car to my step daughter and she had to replace a starter (at 170,000 miles!!!). What did I buy in 2019 to replace this car? ... a 14 year old low mileage 2005 Toyota Sienna of course (for a fifth the cost of a new one) and the second one is fantastic too. I saw people on here took issue with the electric door breaking but they do on every vehicle with them. That's why I buy a no frills model and simply use my hands and arms to close door, like no big deal and no problem waiting to happen.
