Sienna
Ideal vehicle to buy second hand I bought mine new and 6 years later it looks and works the same. The new one looks too boxy. Ok so the rear seat folds down in the new model but think of the money you will save . Only problem is the low tire pressure light comes on even though they are inflated properly.
Good car
No problems what so ever with vehicle in 5 years, 85000 miles. Recomended highly.

Very happy, with specific probs...
I have always wanted the Hondy Odyssey, but we couldn't turn down a great opportunity to buy our Sienna from a private party in immaculate condition for a great price! As a family vehicle, we've got plenty of room for the kids and storage, and all the extras come in handy. Our only beef with this vehicle is the very poorly crafted door handles. I've had to replace the rear hatch handle, the sliding door handle, and now the driver's side door handle! Come on, Toyota, you could do better! That being said, I've taken this baby on several cross country road trips, and the fatigue factor is very minimal. Larry B, Rio Rico, Arizona
Nice family car
We purchased our Sienna in '98 and it as been very good. Once our transmission broke when we were going 80 on the turnpike but Toyota covered it. Also our door handles broke through the 6 years of use.
I love my Sienna!
Driven daughter back and forth to college from 1998 to 2002; now is moving here furniture from place to place as she finds jobs in the Northeast. More fun than a truck but has carried all her bedroom furniture plus a mattress several times.
Never back to dealer
I bought this as my 1st Toyota because of reliability issues with previous American brands; I am not disappointed after 5 years and now plan to by the AWD 2004 LE model.

We bought our van when our son was a baby as I wanted something that was reliable and would keep us safe. This has been a great family van! Our dog and cats have traveled in it, we have taken it on trips. The best thing is that when I was rearended last year the van did its job and protected us and I was THRILLED when it was able to be repaired. Last week the van did its job once again and protected my son and I when we were rearended by a LARGE truck. I am sad to say that the van is not able to be fixed. I will miss it and am planning to get another Sienna.
our 98 sienna
This car has proven to be an unbelievable value. The ride is as smooth as silk. Great power. No repairs. Gas, oil and tires and tune- ups. The paint job makes the car still look nearly new.
1998 Sienna
Excellent performance with comfortable ride on long trips. No maintenance problems with all routine maintenance done at dealer's shop. New tires on at 63000 miles.
Great van, really love it
We bought this used with 57,000 miles on it in 2000. The dealership had no idea what this thing had in it, they sold it to us for 3,000 less than the appraised value and told us the towing package that it had installed was a fuzz buster. They were clueless. We couldn't be happier with this van, it runs like a dream, good pickup and go and the gas mileage is good for a van. We got this fully decked out with the leather seats, CD and everything else you can imagine. It has served us well with our three boys. they have trashed it and after cleaning it still manages to look good.
fun & practical
Purchased new in fall of '97 and 65,000 mles later, still enjoy it. I needed flexiblity in a vehicle, the Siena did the trick. Good power along with good mileage, comfortable car handling features and unique (at the time) interior features...the '98 Siena has it all. A couple of negatives: right from the "get-go" the van has had an occasional squeak in the dash and the right rear quarter window rattles unless completely open. The dealership did what they could, but after a couple of months..weeks the squeaks in the dash and the quarter window rattle returned to their orignal fame.
Fawn's Toy
I sold a Lincoln TC, then bought this Van. I have not been sorry. I love it, It is a great ride. There isn't much I don't use it for. From traveling to moving. I haven't had any problems so far. I am thinking of purchasing a new one.
10 years and more to go!
I'm in my late 60s and have purchased and driven many cars over the years and this Sienna is the most reliable that I've ever owned. Other than a short on the sound system that occurred right after I took possession, it's been routine maintenance only. The vehicle is well constructed with great fit and finish. Its ride is very good, handling a bit slow but you get used to it. Power is limited but it runs quiet and smooth, especially at high speeds. It has been very easy on gas for a car that carries a lot, getting about 23 on the highway. The 2008 that we bought to replace it on long trips is much better in those departments. 35 to 40 MPG minimum is our goal in the 98's replacement.
A Great Van
Bought new the first year -- very good family hauler, with no trouble at all so far and great long distance. Easy to drive and peppy enough.
