I purchased used from local Honda dealer. 141,000 miles. I purchased my own Carfax b4 test drive. Checked Edmunds, KBB, and private prices. Negotiated fair deal. My mechanic checked it. All great have not owned 1 month, so no ratings on powertrain/mechanical. The 6 cyl. Is quick, responsive, and Limited version has great std. accessories. Wireless FOB key: only had 1, so it is $300+ to purchase and program from a Toyota dealer...neither ACE hardware, nor private offer this 2009 FOB! Toyota has a closed market on this FOB key. Otherwise, i love this suv! I put all rear seats down and have 2 dogs. Bought suv floor liner and door pads to protect cargo areas...amazon and ebay. Also added Weathertech window and hood accessories, and a set of metallic/rubber red floor mats.

I've owned my vehicle since 2009. I bought it for the V6. I love everything about this car from the heated seats to the electronic controls on the driver's side. My only complaint is the rear door. Opens horizontally rather than vertically. I'm looking to replace the stereo as it is old and I would like to have Sirius radio. The leather interior looks almost brand new and the engine still runs great. I get calls from the dealership asking me to trade it in, but not while prices on new/used vehicles are skyrocketing. I'm keeping this baby for as long as possible. Over 121,000 miles and going strong. One owner: me

Small

My wife loved the Rav4 but I found it too small, the drivers seat would not go back far enough for my long legs. I am 6'3". Also the door panel and parking brake were in my way and the center console is too low. Interior needs a redesign. With only 4000 miles on it the dealers offered $10,000 less than I paid for it, o much for Toyota holding there value better than other makes. Traded for a Chevy Traverse and lost only $3500.

I have put on almost 10,000 miles. ACTUAL mileage for every drop of gasoline in town and on highway is 21.9 MPG. Have the V6 4WD Limited with all the bells and whistles. This car is a rocket with lots of power and great handling. Silver Classic color is gorgeous.

A Pleasant Surprise

After driving a V8 powered 4Runner for longer than I should have, I needed to find a better MPG for my commute. The Rav4 was a pleasant surprise. I never thought I would fall in love with a small SUV. The ride is smooth yet powerful with the V6 engine. I'm averaging 23mpg which is a big step up over the 15 I was getting before. Handling is superb, although the electronic assisted steering takes some getting used to. At 6'1 space is an issue for me and I have plenty in the Rav4. I have a ton of shoulder, leg and head room and the storage bins under the cargo area are a nice feature. My road bike fits with ease with the seats folded down. I highly recommend the Rav4.
